Hero Arts and Washi Tape

What to do for a Mother's Day tea.  I was approached by the lady coordinating the Mother/daughter tea at church.  She wanted them to do a project where they make cards.  Cards that anyone from 5 to 95 could do.  For 100 people.  At minimal cost.  Right.  It's taken some real think time but this is the first card I came up with for the tea.  Will show the other tomorrow.  I prestamped the heart which was die cut.  They add the washi tape and message to the card.

Art Impression Set

Have you seen the new sets by Art Impressions?  They go perfectly with the "Wobble" springs.  The images were inked with Copic markers.  The words on the outside go with the set.  I added another stamp (also by Art Impressions) to go with the shaking backside of the lady on the inside of the card.  There are several different sets which also include animals.  When you open the card the image tends to move because of the "Wobble" spring it is attached to.

Crafter's Workshop Stencil

Yesterday's post showed how embossing paste was used with Pan Pastels to make the bright butterflies on the Art Journal page.  Today I thought I'd show how embossing paste looked after spreading it through this stencil.  Colored sprays were used once the paste was down.

Art Journal Entry-Pan Pastels

We've had such a fun year with our Art Journal classes.  This will be the last one we do before summer hits.  Over the summer I promised I'd do some repeats for entries that folks may have missed during the year.  As requested, we are using Pan Pastels for this page.  The background and the flowers were all done with various pastels that were easily melded and mixed.  Pan pastels were also mixed in with white embossing paste and spread over a Kaiser butterfly stencil.  The flowers have some black and white pen added to give some detail. We will be doing this page in May.

Slider Card

Paper Cut has taken the pain out of doing slider cards!  You can get prescored cards and tags in abundant choices of colors.  Of course, they also come in white and cream.  White was the choice of color here, along with some sponging of pink on the paper.  The tree by Impression Obsession was colored with markers.  The small word stamp is by Rosie and the large word stamp is by Printworks.  Added some washi tape and mounted it all onto pink cardstock.  Warning-these get addictive.

Daffodil card

Daffodils have been blooming all around us this month.  Really love coming across a group of them as I drive.  So cheerful!  That's what I wanted for this card.  Something cheery to help put a smile on an elderly lady's face.  She's had a hard year and so I wanted to send her a card that would put some happy in her day.

This was done with one stamp- an old Posh Impressions.  Still as good as ever.  It was colored in on the rubber with water base markers.  The paper was a white glossy (hence the white spot from the camera flash).  The word stamp is by Printworks.

Coloring with Dylusional inks

We got in so many new stencils, stamps and sprays from Ranger at the store.  Once I brought my stash home I've been itching to put them to use.  Paired up some here with some Bo Bunny papers.  The image was colored in using the inks from the Dylusional sprays.  I just poured the ink into water pens and then I could color with them without losing any of the vibrancy of the inks.  Does take a fair amount of pens, though.  But, it was good, quick, fun.

Dylusional sprays and Stencils

Needed to figure out a card to do for a demo at the store.  I took some of our new stencils and had a grand time spritzn' and sprayn'.  Wanted to show various techniques and layers that you can do with the sprays and stencils-which this card shows.  Also added some words from one of Dina Wakely's stamp sets.  I love working with the sprays and stencils!

Resurection Sunday

Hope it's a great day for you all.  We'll be celebrating with my Dad.  Got a few more cards in before today.  This is one I sent a friend.  Used a Hero background stamp over the yellow overlay piece.  Stamped the words and flowers by Stampn'UP! in black.  Colored in the flowers with Copics.

Alcohol Inks

Here's another alcohol ink card.  Paired it up with feathers that were die cut and stamped with some matching stamps.  Then stamped this message in black on the glossy paper.  It's always a surprising journey when working with alcohol inks.  It always turns out a little different each time I use them.

Alcohol Inks

As promised, here is the paper I did with the blues and greens.  Once the paper was dry, I punched out the squares.  Each square was sponged with black ink on the edges and then stamped over a variety of images. You can read how I applied the alcohol inks on yesterday's blog post.

Impression Obsession and Alcohol Inks

Brought out the alcohol inks the other night and started playing with them.  Poured some Blending solution on glossy paper and then dripped one color at a time onto the paper and let the inks run.  Added more Blending solution to make some more intermixing of colors.  Once it was dry the IO stamp of trees with birds were inked with a dye black and placed over the colors.  Will show another example with cool colors tomorrow.

Elizabeth Craft stickers and Glitter

Can you tell I like eggs?  I collect them actually.  So, when I find a way to incorporate eggs into card making, you can bet I'm all in.  The egg is a gold sticker which was placed on sticky paper.  Then iridescent glitter was poured over the sticky paper.  Since Copic markers are alcohol based, you can color in the glitter.  The words are a Memory Box stamp.  All this was placed on a Bazzil metallic pink paper.

Memory Box Card

It was a spectacular weekend for the cherry blossoms in DC.  But then this week the wind came and now the rain so I think that will the be end of them.   We like celebrating the blossoms so here is a my rendition on a card.  Don't remember who does this great printed paper.  Memory Box did the stamp which was lightly colored in with Copics and small pink gems were added.

Dreamweaver Stencil

After a beautiful and warm weekend, looks like we're in for some rain and colder weather.  Made me think of this stencil.  It was placed over a white card and gray ink was sponged over all of the metal except for the one umbrella.  A mask was placed over the one umbrella.  Once the gray was on, a reverse mask was used and Versamark was pressed onto the umbrella.  The mask and stencil were removed and pink embossing powder was applied and heat set.  A light pink was sponged over the all the white areas.  Then it was mounted onto the card.

Impression Obsession Easter Card

Another egg card today, but very different from the one yesterday.  The image was stamped with a black Momento pad and then colored in with Copic markers.  A punch made the fancy cuts along the edge of the pink paper.  There is a velvet pink ribbon between the pink paper and the white.

Sticker Egg

The nice thing about stickers, is you can put them over a variety of papers.  Pink printed paper was used here.  The words were embossed in silver to match.  Added a metallic ribbon to finish it off.

Impression Obsession and Flower Soft

Hard to tell by this photo, but the purple stain windows are acetate.  The image was stamped with a purple Stazon pad.  The the image was stamped again with a black pad on white paper.  This image was cut out and fitted with the clear windows.  The window box is popped out and the flowers were colored with Copic markers.  Then white glue was added so the flower soft would stick to it.  Once dry, the glue is invisible.

Kalidacolor and brayer card

A nice, quick card.  The multi colored Kalidacolor pad was used on this card with the use of a brayer.  Once the color was done, the image and words were inked with a dye ink and stamped on the glossy paper.

Dreamweaver Spring Stencil and Paste

Spring is slowly coming to our area, and I am slowly coming back to a regular routine after my trip.  So I am giving myself some grace, and posting some of my favorite spring cards for a few days.  Really want to get back to making some cards, but not yet.

Used a stencil on this card and covered it with embossing paste.  Actually, two stencils were used but the process was the same for both stencils.  Once the paste was dry, color was added with stencil brushes.  I sure have been enjoying seeing the signs of spring when I'm out walking.

Printworks Easter Card

Got these two stamps recently and wanted to try to do some water coloring with the image.  A palette was made with gelatos and then I used a Dove Blender to apply the color onto a misted watercolor paper.  It turned out ok, but wasn't exactly the look I was going for. Some Copic light gray was added to the background.  Think next time I'll try a more translucent medium.  Some iridescent glitter was added to the center of the flowers.

Faber Castell ClassProject

So after my full weekend of classes what did I do?  Came home and took another class!  After all, why pass up a good opportunity when it's right in front of you?  We had in an instructor from the company.  She showed us how to use Gelatos, Big Ink Markers, Chalkboard paint, and their Whipped paste.  It all came together on this canvas.

Taylor Expressions Belated Birthday

With all my coming and goings and getting back into the swing of things I realized I missed a friend's birthday.  Ooops.  So, I pulled out this nice little cling set and got to work on a quick card to send to her.  Images were colored with Copics and a little bit of stickles was added to the star.  Now, off to send it to her.
