Dyan Reavley's Paints

Had a chance to try our Dyan's new paints.  I'm prepping pages for a spiritual art journal.  It gave me a good chance to just play and see what the paints can do.  Sponges and wipes were used to apply the paints to the pages.  It was great fun and the more I tried, the more ideas came to me.  These are just a few of the pages.  Will show some of the completed pages later this month.  If you want to try them, I'm offering a chance to use them to prep pages for journaling on May 3rd from 2-3:30 at Angela's Happy Stamper.  There is a $10 charge to help cover the cost of supplies.  Just bring your journal and come try out her paints.  Sign up at the store.

Stampscapes

Did this as a Make It Take It at the store.  Folks did a really good job.  I was hoping to take some of the intimidation factor out of Stampscapes.  From the response, it looked like it worked!  Am hoping to turn this into a birthday card for a friend who loves horses.  There wasn't any masking for this card.  Color was added with dye inks and sponge tools with a little extra  help from Copic markers for extra detail.

Mixed Media

Was really pleased how this turned out for a recent demo.  The background was done using the Dilusion sprays with stencils.  Once dry, a Stencilgirl bird stencil was placed over the paper.  Then Dina Wakely orange paint was added to transclucent paste and applied over top.  While the paste was still wet, hot pink glass micro beads were added to the bellies of the birds.  Once the paste was dry, all the birds were outlined in with a white pen.  Not hard to do, just takes so time and patience to allow each stage to dry.

Washi Tape Card

There is so much to love about washi tape.  I've used it often in mixed media settings but today went for a purer, simpler look.  Memory Box has this  butterfly die that fits perfectly on the front of the card.  I saved the cut out  butterfly for another time.  The outline of the image was on a separate piece of paper.  The washi tape was placed on the front of the card and then the top piece was glued over it.  Some pink ink was sponged into the corners.  The words are from a Dare 2b Artzy set.

Stampscapes

We had a good time at the demo on Saturday where I was showing how to use Stampscapes.  I stamped out the images here and challenged the folks to take it and color it in based on what I had been showing them.  One customer took up the challenge and brought the card back today.  It was the first time!  So thrilled with it had to share it.

Two Step Retro Card

Dare 2b Artzy has a great set that enables you to not only do 2 step stamping, it has additional stamps you can decorate with and even add words.  It all comes together here with the help of Versafine pads in green and orange. It takes me back to the late 60's!

Art Journal

It's time for Art Journal.  I'm getting ready for class tomorrow.  Our pages will be good for using up little embellishments.  The theme as you can see, is about mail.  I have an abundant amount of stamp items regarding this theme.  There is just something about getting real letters in the mail.   So much history is preserved thanks to letters.  So this is my tribute page to letters.

Happy Easter

I like resurrection Sunday the best of any holiday!  Hope takes wings like no other day.  This was a very simple card.  The background is all printed paper.  The bird in the branch is by Inkadinkado and was stamped with a black pad. Words are also in the set.

Sunshine

Not been much of a spring yet, so any day with sunshine has been enjoyed more than ever.  And, for those days we don't, I've been making my own sunshine with this card.  The sun was cut from a die by Mama Elephant.  Words are by Hampton Arts.  Still having computer issues so still not back up to full speed with frequent cards.  Thanks for your patience.
