Stampendous Magnolia Card

Had a little trouble getting this card to show up well with the camera.   It looks fine when you are actually looking at it in person.  The Brilliance Sky Blue ink has some metallic in it which may be a bit too reflective for the flash.  After stamping the image on the brown cardstock, the flower was colored in with a white colored pencil.  A Stampendous musical score background was stamped on the blue card with Distress Antique Linen.  The lace is by Hero Arts and was streatched across a piece of red tape. Watch the blog site at Angela's Happy Stamper to see when this will be offered as a free  Make-it-Take-it.

Memory Box Turtle Die Cut Card

Can you tell my head is still at the beach?  You sure can with this card.  Loved the little turtles.  All the paper is by Memory Box as well.  There is transluscent glitter glue added to the shells.  The word is by Impressions Obsessions.

Memory Box Lei Die Cut Card

Have you seen the new Holiday die cuts and stamps from Memory Box?  Dave has done it again!  He makes you want them all!  But, I'm also not quite ready to let go of summer.  Took the lei die cut here and made a welcome card.  Wouldn't this be perfect for a new commer to your neighborhood, church, or group?  On the lei is a dot of transluscent glitter glue in the center of each flower. The words are by Hero Arts.  There is a strip of red tape below the circle.  On the tape the ribbon was folded over repeatedly across the card.

Eat Cake Chicken

We got in a great selection of stamps from one of my favorite companies-Eat Cake Graphics.
Made this card for the Make-It-Take-It at Angela's Happy Stamper Store this past Thursday.  Can't you just relate to this chicken?  If I don't look like this, it sure is how I feel on the inside when I'm overwhelmed.  The image was paired up with words from Great Impressions.  The bird was outlined with a Copic gray, and additonal colors are also Copics.  Orange around the circles was sponged on.

Baseball Birthday Card

Yesterday I posted a birthday card for my husband.  Today's card is for my brother.  He always liked baseball as a kid.  I found some baseball stickers I hadn't used and and matched them up with some of the paper from Graphic 45's Gentlemen set.  Inside is stamped the outline of a baseball player hitting a ball.  I wrote beside it, "Heard you're about to hit one out of the park.  Hope it's a good day.  Happy Birthday"

Rockn' Birthday Card

Another paper clip card.  This is a very plain card but it's for my hubby's birthday, so I didn't want to froo-froo it up to much.  Inside it says, "You Rock!" and "Happy Birthday".  Still bright colors, but thought  the white background  toned the colors down a bit.  He's not a very wild and crazy guy, so didn't want to overwhelm him with the colors.  The words are by MSE.

Paper clip card

Am continuing to stretch myself with colorful cards.  Today I started with several colored paper clips in the shape of butterflies which came from Staples.  Ran some ribbon through them.  Added some paper flowers at the front and back of the words.  Words are by Stampendous.  Inside I added "to wish you a happy birthday".   Am sending this to a little friend who has a birthday on the first day of August.  Think she'll enjoy the brightness of the card.

Popped up Birthday

Have you noticed how all the rage is about color these days?  Thought I'd join in the fun with this colorful card.  The cake is preprinted and on a spring.  The printed paper had the stripes on the opposite side of the dots.  I added a little sparkle to the top of the flames with glitter glue.  Inside the saying says, "Heard your birthday "Popped Up" again.  Hope it's a happy day."  Not sure who made it, but it sure went perfectly with the pop up cake.

Hero Arts Pumpkin Card

Pulled out my one inch square punch and put it to work on this card.  Dug out my Halloween scrap paper and mixed it up to make this background.  The pumpkin was colored in with Copic markers.  A little ribbon and some sparkly foam dots finished off the front of this card.  In side the saying says,"Thinking of you gives me a warm glow inside."  by Northern Woods.

LaBlanche Marigold

This flower seemed like a good candidate for experimentation of various techniques.  Today it was colored in with a variety of Copic markers.  Printed paper, lace, and embelishments, and dyed ribbon to match were added.  You'll be seeing this image several more times in the future.  Will be curious to see which becomes a favorite.

Eat Cake Graphics Card

It may be the middle of summer, but for those who send lots of holiday cards it's time to start getting ready.  Two variations of my Christmas card were posted earlier this week.  Now I'm posting a Halloween card.  Holiday stamps have been coming into the shop and I snatched these as soon as I saw them.  Too cute to pass up!  The images were stamped in black and colored in with Copic markers.

Cat's Pajamas Card

Really love the bunny sets by Cat's Pajamas.  When I saw this set at the store I just couldn't resist.  I'm on to making birthday cards for August and thought this set would be good for the occasion.  The pink paper was embossed with a Cuttle Bug folder.  The bunny was stamped in black and punched out with a Marvy Green round punch.  Copics were used to color in the images.  Some yellow Glitter Glue was added to the star to make it sparkle.

Christmas Cards

Here are some of the 70 cards that were made last week while we were at the beach.  My goal was to keep to a simple design.  The word stamp is by Magenta and was inked with Momento pads onto a cream card.  These were cut out and layered onto a printed paper.  The front of the card was inked with a Versamark pad and stamped with a Hero Christmas music background.  The printed paper was then layered on top, and a strip of glittery swirls was adhered onto the side.  The glittery strips were on sale at Micheals.  Inside was stamped the phrase "Always leave a little room in your holidays for miracles" by Printworks.  I don't really like doing so many all at once.  Ideally, I'd like to take a day a month and work on about 20 at a time. Unfortunately, that didn't happen this year.  So, thought I'd better sieze the time during our week away and crank out as many as I could.  Does feel good to know I've got a good chunk done.

Chill Card

We're back from the beach, but I'm trying to channel some of the calm I aquired while away.  Won't last long, but this card is a reminder to take a breath, and just, well, Chill.  Hope it's a good start to the week for you.  I'm focusing on unpacking and cleaning up the stamp room.

Brayered Stampendous Card

I'm a happy camper to be able to just sit on the beach.  Love to watch the waves, love to see the families around me having fun, love to read, and love stuffing my feet into the sand.  It's so nice to just stop for a while and rest. Ahhhh.  This card captures the moment for me.  The image was stamped onto  white glossy paper which had been brayered with a Kalidacolor multi colored pad.  A strip of material tape was added, and the words were inked in black.

Imaginesce Printed Paper

Had some cute ocean paper in my summer stash.  Just punched out pieces of it and put them together.  The coral is part of the line of paper as well.  Inside is the sentiment, "Oceans of love" by Sunday International.  Quick and cute.

Impression Obsession Shell Card

Impression Obsession has some great shell stamps.  Here is a new one I couldn't resist.  It was stamped with black dye ink and then lightly colored in with colored pencils.  The edges were sponged with a Vesamagic blue.  The words are by Stampabilites.  Love how well the message goes with this stamp.

Impression Obsession "Explore" Card

Just got this word stamp from Impression Obsession.  I got it to go with my sailing ship stamps, but when I saw this printed paper, I thought it went perfectly with it as well.  Nothing I like better than exploring a beach for treasures.

Lighthouse Card

Virginia is known for its many lighthouses so this stamp seemed a perfect one to use while at the beach.  This image is all one stamp which was inked with black dye ink onto a white card.  Various water base pads were used and the color was applied to the card with a resevoir pen.  The pen was stroked across the pad and then run across the area on the paper where I wanted the color.  A light hand and quick motions were important so the water didn't become too saturated on the card.  Once the color was dried, the words were added and the paper was glued to the card.  Some red and white twine was tied through the button to complete the card.

Flip flop card

The printed paper is by Memory Box.  Ribbon I got from Angela's Happy Stamper Store.  The quote is by Great Impressions.  The starfish is a brad from Brad Outlets.  They were at the scrapbook show in June.  They have tons of different brads that are very adorable and creative.

Frantage Beach Card

More shells on this card.  They were added by using the thick embossing powder by Stampendous along with some extra gold embossing to create this nice textured effect.  The shells were laid into the powder which was heated from the bottom so everything ends up melded together.  The quote is also by Stampendous was was stamped with a Momento black pad.  The paper is by Bo Bunny.

At the Beach

Am off to the beach for the week for sun, sand, and stamping fun with my friend, Harriett.  This week is always a highlight of the summer for me.  We pack projects to work on during part of the day, hit the beach, eat, and watch chick flicks at night.  Pure heaven!  So, while we are away, I will be showing beach cards.  This one uses sand by Mudd Puddles.  You spread it on with a palett knife and let it dry.  Shells were added on top.  The words are part of a canvas sticker.  Sun was punched out and applied with a piece of double stick adhesive.  I did my cards ahead of our time at the beach so I could take all the cards with me and send them to family and friends while we are gone.

Good Egg

This came out a little dark, think you can still make out the ribbon.  It is covered with eggs.  We have this cute ribbon at the store, so I made this sample to show folks one way to use the ribbon.  The eggs were punched out with an oval punch.  The words were made using a Crafty Secrets alphabet set.  This set is great because it gives you upper and lower case letters, and multiples so you can line up words.

Fireworks over the City Card

Guess this past holiday was the inspiration for this card.  Took this city stamp and embossed it in detail black embossing on white paper.  Once embossed, the lights and and open buildings were colored in with Copic markers.  The fireworks were stamped on the gray paper and then outlined with a fine line glue pen which leaves a tacky surface.  I added the glue in parts.  First doing the areas where the gold glitter was added.  Then the blue was done, and then the red.  The city was applied on top with double stick tape. Thought this would make a good celebration card.

Fourth of July Card

Saved this last patriotic card to help celebrate our national holiday.  The base card is made from kraft paper.  The word stamp is by Serendipity and inked onto white confetti paper.  Hope you all have a safe and fun celebration.

Tape Card

A new find for me was discovering material tape at the recent scrapbook convention here in VA.  Washi tape now comes in a plethora of prints and colors.  But this is the first I've seen material tape that can be used like washi tape.  A wooden buttton was glued on top of the tape.  Simple, but nice.

Star Card

Still doing patriotic cards.  Added some star buttons to these punched out stars.  Some red and white twine was run through the red button and knotted.  Definately will need to bubble wrap this card before sending it.
