Honey Pop Card

A little friend is having a birthday on the first of March.  This set by Inky Antics seemed a perfect choice.  Next time I think I'll put the party hat a little further down in the middle of the card, but the rainbow paper seemed a good fit for the hat.  All the images were colored in with Copic markers.  You'll be seeing lots of birthday cards in March.  It's the month of birthdays!

Gelatos with Wow Set

Have I mentioned how much Gelatos and I have become friends?  I've really come to appreciate and enjoy using these handy little sticks of color.  They helped make a quick background for these Wow stamps.  The first thing to do was to run the sticks of color over the paper.  The using a reservoir pen, the color was blended and smoothed.  There are really so many was to "water" gelatos.  You can use your finger, a brush, a mister spray, etc.  I chose the reservoir pen because we are doing this card as a free Make It Take It today at Angela's Happy Stamper store.  It seemed the least messy way to water the paper.  The stamps were inked with Versa Fine and added once the paper was dry.  Come join the fun today if you can.

Master Board Cards for March

This is our last card from the Master Board for March.  The board is the plaid piece used behind the brown paper.  The clovers are a stamp from Magenta.  Can't remember who does the words, but they were inked with a Momento Luxe Pine.

Master Board Cards for March

More clovers today but these are from Memory Box.  They were inked with Momento Luxe and then an extra Celtic stamp was dry stamped onto the ink to create the design you see in each clover.  The Master Board was used under the brown strip.  The same technique was used to layer the three stips at the top upon which the St. Pat. stamp was inked over the strips.

Master Board Cards for March

We had a good time in our Master Board class last week.  During class I showed the Master Board and cards we'll be doing next month.  Here is the first of three cards.  The Master board pieces were used in the strips at the bottom of  the card and for the clovers.  An Impression Obsession background stamp created the texture on the green card.  Some extra shading was done in the corners and on the clover leaves.  The board was done with washi tape and Momento Luxe pads.

Gelli prints

Moved on to colored paper and used metallic paints with the stencils on these prints.  The red is actually a vellum paper.  Oh the possibilities!

Gelli Prints

Here are a  couple of prints done with Crafter's Workshop stencils.  Acrylic paint was put on first, and then the stencil and more paint over the stencil.  Bright and cheerful even with the black paint.

Gelli Prints

Got together with some friends for a fun crafting day.  I pulled out my new round Gelli plate and put it to work.  Spent about three hours playing with it and stopped only because the folks I rode with were packing up.  One word sums up the plate-FUN!  Will try to contain myself and limit what all I show.  Suffice it to say, though, I came home with a pile of prints.  Here is just a sample.  Will show a few more over the weekend and then I'll quit for now.

Master Board Card

This is the last card for our class today.  You can tell I'm anxious for spring by the colors used in these cards.  Bright, cheerful colors!  Words are by Hero Arts.

Master Board Card

My Favorite Things puts out a set of dies that were used to create this card.  The paper from the Master board was used as background as well as the ribbon piece across the card.  There is even a piece behind the gem.

Master Board Card

Master board for this month involved a "batik" look created with acrylic paints and embossing.  Once the board was created, it was cut up and three cards were made.  Here is the first card.  Will be doing this class this Thursday.

2X2 Canvas

This is the last in the "Bird" series of canvases that I've been doing.  After gessoing the canvas, gelatos were applied, then the printed paper.   Book text was used on each canvas as background.  On this canvas, the text was used to create the main image.  We've been doing the canvases as Mini Lessons at Angela's Happy Stamper Store.  You can look for this one on the store class schedule.

Zentagle Card

Got another zentangle done.  It was all hand drawn and then colored in with Copics.  I used this die cut since it matched the loops in the tangle image.  The strip of paper pulls in the pink from the flowers.  One pin gem was placed in the middle of the flower.  Makes a nice generic card, although I think it's going to be turned into a birthday card for a young friend of mine.

Unity Stamps

Well, after doing all those Valentine's for everyone, I still needed to do one for my hubby!  He's not much for the Grunge look, so opted for this set from Unity.  He loves to cook, so thought this would be a good one for him.  I added lots of washi tape to go with the card.

Spray and Stencil Heart

And here we are at the big day.  Hope it's a good one for you.  Added to this card is a saying by Pink Ink.  A paint brush was dipped in a pink Dylusion spray bottle and then flicked onto the card.  Helps liven up the background and goes with the saying.

Sprayed and Stencil heart

Moved on to green today for this card.  I like the layout on this card a lot.  You can't really tell here, but the heart is extra popped out with the used of some very thick foam dots used to adhere the heart to the card.

Spray and Stencil Heart Card

We're loading up the week with lots of "loooove" as we head into the final stretch to Valentine's Day.  I'm having way to much fun figuring out ways to use my stencil and sprayed hearts.  Mixed in with the heart today is an image from a Hero Arts set, and also a background image by Diana Wakely.  Pulled out my colored staples to help finish off this card.

Impression Obsession Die

Been sneaking in a few more Valentines.  This one was paired with a die from I.O.  as well as with an extra stencil spray scrap.  Since the Memory Box card was so plain, the background was inked with a dotted stamp done in a darker pink ink.

Art Journal Entry Gelatos Water color

Been seeing this image floating around on Pinterest.  Thought March would be a good month to try out the idea.  Then a saw a great video on spraying Gelatos and I knew I had to try it out.  Was very pleased with the results.

Repeat Impressions

Took the 3rd image and cut it up and added it to the square that had the message in it.  Some twine was added and then you are done.

Repeat Impressions

Here is the second card made with the square stamp from Repeat Impressions.  Embossing powder is by Wow and called "Pepper".  Simple, but nice.

Repeat Impressions

We got in some big square stamps that have 3 images and a message on them.  You can stamp it all at once and make a big square card with all the images together.  However, when I saw the stamp, all sorts of variations came to mind that you could do with the images.  I took the stamp and Versamarked it and then embossed the images with embossing powder.  One square was cut out and mounted on this card.  Added some adhesive dots at the bottom to attach the flag.  The message was moved to the inside of the card.  Will show another card I got out of the same stamp.

Dylusion Spray Hearts

Here is another card with the sprayed hearts.  Crafter's Workshop stencils were used with the sprays.  On this card the smaller heart was placed on top of the larger heart with foam tape so there is some dimension between the hearts.  It's hard to see that in this picture.  An extra piece of scrap sprayed paper was placed under the hearts.  The saying is by Hero Arts and was inked with Brillance "Moonlight White".

Spray and Stencil Hearts

I made these hearts for the Hostess bags we gave out to customers who came last Saturday to our Open House at Angel's Happy Stamper Store.  Happily for me, I was having so much fun making them, I ended up with extras!  Been putting them to good use by using them on Valentine's day cards.  Used a couple of background stamps with dye inks and foam taped the hearts on.  The hearts were cut from an Accucut die.  The paper was sprayed first with Dylusion sprays in light colors.  Then a Crafter's Warehouse stencils were placed over the paper and dark sprays were used.  Once the paper was dry, then they were run through the Accucut.

Repeat Impression Flip Card

I'm finally getting back into the swing of things.  Did hit part of the Open House at Angela's on Saturday.  We did a Make It Take It of this "Flip" card.  These kind of cards are also often called "Waterfall" cards.  Repeat Impressions does block stamps so you have all the images together.  Then it's just a matter of putting all the pieces together.  The nice thing about this company is that they sell sets of cards all ready for you.  Really cuts down on the prep time.  Was glad to finally learn how to do these cards.  The best part-they really aren't hard at all and always are so impressive to see.

Saturday, February 1, 2014

Hi folks,

I'm slowly coming back to the land of the living.  Not quite up to a full day at our Open House at Angela's Happy Stamper today, but wanted to alert you to it if you can go.  There will be free demos going all morning, paid Make It Take It's in the afternoon, food, and two stamp companies highlighted.  Prizes and presents will also be presented!  I'll be in for the afternoon to help with one of the projects.  Don't worry, I'm not sick, just not up to full strength yet.  You won't catch anything from me but enthusiasm for ways to have more fun with stamping!
