Sweet N' Sassy Sea Set

This is a new set that I was sure was going to give me a quick, easy card.  Nope.  Did multiple brayered cards and each time I inked the image it smeared or blotched.  I tried lightly sanding the image but it didn't resolve the problem.  Not sure if the problem was the glossy paper, the ink, or what, but I finally colored on a matte paper with a sponge applicator and then inked the image with Versafine.  Success! Oh happy day.

Inky Antics card

This stamped image was colored in with Pan Pastels.  Pan Pastels are very high quality chalks.  I've always liked working with chalk.  It's quick, fast, easy, and gives such a nice look to an image.  These chalks also mix well with many other mediums.  A little goes a long way, so even though they are more expensive, they last a long time.  Words are by Hero Arts.

Gelli Print Card

Here is a print made with two stencils by Crafter's Workshop.  The company has just released more stencils that are all new.  We have them at Angela's Happy Stamper store if you care to see them.  Want to try out making a Gelli print?  Come make two at the next mini lesson.  I'll be posting times for that soon.

Hero Arts and Graphic 45

Thought I'd end this week with this cheerful flower card.  The flower is a Hero Arts stamp which was stamped on 3 different  Graphic 45 papers.  The leaves are from My Favorite Things.  Word is also by Hero.

Graphic 45 Card

Here's another card with the "French Country" paper.  Words are by Hero Arts.  Thought I'd send this one to my dad.  He always did like to have a vegetable garden.

Graphic 45 card

This paper is from the "French Country" line.  I didn't add a sentiment yet.  Wanted to see what occasion came along before adding the words.

Graphic 45

Here is another "Thank you" card.  This lovely print is part of the design of the paper.  How easy is that?  Just layer up the paper with a layer of white in between the printed paper.

Graphic 45

As you can see, I was able to restock my "thank you" supply.  This paper is from the Bohemian line.
Added an Impression Obsession die of cream paper at the bottom.  Words are by Hero Arts.

Graphic 45 Card

Do you get together with friends to stamp?  I do!  But I've learned that when I do, I need to think through what I'm taking for supplies.  For my trek to the shore, Graphic 45 paper packs seemed a good choice.  I also took my Split coast template book for ideas on card lay outs.  A few Hero Arts clear sets gave me some flowers and words.  Will show some of the cards this week that  I was able to do pretty quickly over a few days at the beach.

Embossed Christmas Cards

I was determined to keep to simple Christmas cards this year.  Happily, my ideas worked and here are the results.  Dry embossing folders were run through the Cuttle Bug.  The words on the snowman card are by Printworks and were done in a Momento gray.  Inside was stamped "May the joys of Christmas fill your heart with hope and happiness".  Inside the card with the present it says, "Praying your Christmas will be filled with gifts that far outlast the season-God's love, joy and peace".

Graphic 45 Card

Here is some more of that yummy new paper by Graphic 45.  It is from the Bohemian line.  It was placed onto a Memory Box card.  A Memory Box die was used to cut the white paper.  Words are by Hero Arts.

Hero Arts Flower Card

This flower was stamped three times.  Once in white, once on the green printed paper, and once on blue for the center part.  The leaves were done with a MFT die that comes with five leaves.  The paper from the triangle pieces are by Graphic 45.  A button was added to the flower with a piece of green twine through the holes and knotted.  No sentiment yet.  Am waiting to see what I need for a specific occasion.

Brayered Multi colored card

Saved my favorite for last.  This new color is called "Tomato Vine".  It's used on the paper and then the images by Impression Obsession were added with black dye ink.  Easy to do, and yet awesome looking when done.

Brayered Impression Obsession Card

"Tahiti" Kalidicolor was brayered onto the white glossy paper here.  Then the stamps were added in black.  Was a little surprised that this was the result of something called "Tahiti", but it still looks nice.

Brayered Card

Here is another new color by Kalidacolor called "Vineyard"  Stamps are Impression Obsession and were stamped with a black dye pad onto the brayered white glossy paper.

Kalidacolor Denim

Have you seen the new pads put out by Kalidacolor?  There are four new pads.  This is one of the new colors called "Denim".  Didn't think I'd like it until I tried it out.  Think it'll be great with some ocean themes.  Used it here with a couple of images by Impression Obsession.  Solid stamps always work so well with multicolored pads brayered onto white paper.  I promise to show the other colors as well.  Have done a quick card for each color.

Military Retirement Card

Have a friend who is about to retire from the Air Force.  He's been stationed away from his family for a couple of years, so you can imagine how happy they are to have him home for good.  Wanted to share in the joy so thought a patriotic theme would be a good one.  Used a star punch to get the printed shapes.  Added a few star gems to the word piece.  Inside it says, "Congratulations on your retirement".

Acetate Sun

We've had a couple of really rainy days at the beach.  No problem, we just got our craft on and kicked out lots of cards.  Feeling much better now that I have most of my Christmas cards done.  Also got a pile of "go to" cards that just need an appropriate sentiment.  I've wanted to have a pile like this for years!  Used up my old ones way too long ago.  Happily though, the sun returned yesterday and today for some great beach days.  Our time here is quickly coming to an end.  Thought I'd post this sun card as a happy tribute to the joys of summer no matter where we are.

The sun is by A Stamp in the Hand and was inked with black Stazon onto a piece of acetate.  It was then layered onto the card.  The words are by Printworks.

Art Journal Page for August

All this beach time makes me appreciate the ocean and all that is in it.  So for our journal page in August we'll be doing a deep sea scene.  We'll be using sprays, a stencil and embossing paste, and regular embossing powder.  Such fun it was making this!

Art Impressions Bathing Beauties

Don't know if you can make out the words here.  Our lady on the left is saying, "Oh my dear, those stripes are so slimming!"  Our lady on the right is saying, "Good heavens!  That skirt does wonders!
Inside the card it says," Friends know just the right thing to say!"  Love it!

Amuse Surf Boards

And speaking of color, how about this card?  Bo Bunny's summer prints were used as the back drop.  The boards were colored in with Copic markers.  Punched out the white waves, and used another sunglasses button over the ribbon.  Been enjoying getting to see the surfers doing their thing.  They make the most of these east coast waves.  Not too overwhelming, but enough for them to have fun.

Embossed fish card

Got my color on with this card and I'm liking it!  Added the fish to a piece of embossed blue paper.  Added the striped piece by Bo Bunny behind it, and then a red card stock.  All this went on the blue card.  Words are by Cat's Pajamas and a little bit of yellow and white twine is wrapped around the flag piece.  Love my beach time even though I spend it all under an umbrella.  Just looking at the water makes me happy.

Memory Box Penguin Card

Love this  little penguin.  Think it sums me up pretty well!  The words are Lockhart (now renamed Pink Ink).  The suit, umbrella, had, and drink are all separate stamps which I cut and pasted after coloring them in with Copic markers.  Matched it all with printed paper that adds more color to my life.  Now I need to get off the computer and waddle on down for another cocktail hour out on the deck.

Cat's Pajamas Beach Card

Well it's finally here-my beach week!  Hare and I are off to her beach house on the Eastern Shore.  We have been doing this for several years now, and it's become my favorite week of summer.  Lots of lounging by the water, but also serious stamping time as well.  (Also time for chick flicks and few favorite food runs)  In honor of "beach week" I plan on posting seaside cards all week.  This one was pretty quick.  Moved around the words some and then inked them all with an orange dye ink.  High lighted the umbrella and drink with an orange Copic and sponged some orange around the edge of the circle.  Added the sunglasses button after removing the shank.  But enough of that.  Think it's cocktail hour so I'm off for some more serious fun!

Printworks Birthday Style

We got in more of these dress forms from Memory Box at the store.  I've been waiting for them to come in so I could pair them with this word stamp and do it for a Make It Take It.  Found some printed paper that I liked, and put it all together like this.  The card also uses a scallop die and also a button die.

Cat's Pajamas Patriotic Card

Here is the other card done with the same bunny set.  Added some cloth tape and a star button.  Threaded the button with some blue and white twine.

Cat's Pajamas Patriotic Card

Hope you all had a good day yesterday.  Had some more fun with this bunny set, and decided to show a couple of the renditions done with these images.  You can tell me which one you liked best!  Used a little bit of washi tape on this one, and some star gems.  Had to pad this one because of the stars when it was mailed.

Cat's Pajama's Patriotic Card

Here are more of the images from the Cat's Pajamas set.  It can be used for other occasions, but I'm still in need of some 4th of July cards.  The bunny is stamped with a dye ink and colored in with Copic markers.  Behind the bunny is a spray of tiny stars.  Hard to tell here, but each one was enhanced with red Stickels glitter glue.  The stars were punched out with a small punch.  Hope you all have a safe and fun day celebrating.

Gelli Plate Print

Got a little patriotic with this paper.  There were two prints done again on this paper.  First the blue paint with several small stencils, then the red paint with the swirls stencil.  Once dried, it was cut and attached to this card after wrapping some twine around the piece.  The words are from a new set by Cat's Pajamas.  A star paper clip is attached to the words.

Gelli Plate Print

On a Gelli plate, a strip of yellow paint was brayered on both ends of the plate.  In the middle a strip of red paint was brayered on and blended into the yellow.  Paper was put over the plate and pulled up.  Then purple paint was brayered onto the plate and the dotted stencil was placed over top of the purple paint.  The yellow and red print (which had dried) was placed over the stencil and pulled up to create what you see.  The paper was cut into pieces and used on this card.

Gelli Print and Embossing

This Gelli print was done with a mix of purple acrylics and also a bronze acrylic paint.  First, the purples were brayered onto the plate and the squares stencil was put on the plate.  A white paper went over this and a print was made.  Then the bronze paint was brayered onto the plate and the other stencil was put onto the paint.  Another print was made over the first print.  It was then cut to fit on the card.  A piece of embossed script was added and some metallic gold ink was rubbed over top of the raised parts.  Clock pieces were then glued on to finish the card.
