Impression Obsession Birthday Card

Impression Obsession has numerous artists who draw images for the company.  One of my favorite designers is by Gary.  His images have a lot of attention to detail but color well.  See the ears of the cat behind the basket?  Gary has a penchant for putting animals in his images.  Made this card for a friend.  Inside is a quote about fruit that goes well with the apples.  The color was done with Inktense colored pencils.

Fallscapes

Another fall scene using stampscapes  and a watercolor palette.  Used a little bit of masking on this card but got away with it without using a stamp-a-liner.  We took a train trip through the Canadian Rockies a few years back with my Dad.  This picture is a reflection of what we saw on that trip.

Dreamweaver Stencil

Copper seems underrated compared to gold and silver.  But as we head into fall, can't think of a better time to let it shine.  Copper embossing paste was spread over this stencil and allowed to dry.  It worked really well with the copper metallic paper and metallic ribbon, don't you think?

Fallscapes

This simple scene is using a Stampscapes stamp over some Color Bursts.  The image was embossed with various Wow embossing powders.  The words are by Printworks.

Stampscapes

Finally getting around to adding a new stamp class with Stampscapes- Fallscapes!  This card was done with Inktense watercolor pencils and a little shading with a sponge tool and ink pads.  Was in the store yesterday getting ready to post when we found out a guest artist wanted to come and do some classes.  The only day she could come was when I was doing Fallscapes.   Didn't want to miss the opportunity to have a guest, so I've moved this class to early November.

Echo Park Paper

A few days ago some fall cards were posted that were done with new Echo Park paper that had come in the shop.  Here is a card done with some of the holiday paper.  No stamping needed for this card.  All that was added was the ribbon.

Art Journal Entry

At our class the other night I shared this new page that we will be doing in our Art Journaling class in September.  Doing an abstract is a stretch for me but was a lot of fun.  We'll be using gelatos three different ways on this page.  Call the store if you are interested in joining us.  Class will be on the 22nd.

Fall Card

Summer is still with us, but the first signs of fall are starting to appear.   It rather put me in the mood for pulling out some autumn paper and making a seasonal card.  A Sweet N' Sassy die of a leaf helped make the maple leaf.  Then another die for the brown piece.  Lots of layers and a few brads to finish it off.  Paper is by Doodlebug.

Thank you card

What do you do when you go to your stash of "thank you"card only to find you have no stash?  Don't know about you, but I go crank out some as fast as I can!  To help make it speedy, I used some of the preprinted cards you can get in packs at the box craft store.  Just stamp, and add the words!  Done.

Echo Park Fall paper

All these images are from the same sheet of paper.  One whole side is covered with squares like this.  The other side has the black diamonds.  Did a little cutting and pasting and it's all done.  Well, maybe done.  Was thinking of adding some sequins or enamel spots.  Yes, no?  What do you think?

Echo Park Paper

As I was driving around town this week I saw it- the first leaves starting to turn colors!  Oh my, where has summer gone?  So it seemed very appropriate that the new Echo Park fall paper arrived.  This card has several sheets of it including the pumpkin which I cut out and popped up in the oval frame.  Will show a card from their vintage fall line tomorrow.

Memory Box Christmas Card

Still focused on the night sky but this one was made into a card for Christmas.  The sky was done with water colors.  The window was then added to an embossed card.

Dylusion Sprayed Card

Did you get to see the meteor shower the other night?  There is something calming about sitting out and looking at the stars.  Here is my card variation.  Dylusion sprays done with a Crafter's Workshop star stencil.  There is a little sparkle added with clear Luna pen.  The words were embossed with white embossing powder.

Taylor Expressions

There is a large and lovely set of glasses and sayings to go with glasses that I just discovered.  Took three of the glasses and embossed them in different colors and added one of the sayings to this card.  It was finished off with some sequins.  Having some fun with something new= a happy moment.

Candle card

This is a candle from a Hero Arts set of candles.  Just one worked well with this saying.  The candle was colored in with colored pencils and some red glitter glue on the flame.

Sailing card

Here is another quick cute card done with printed paper and a brag card and some twine.  I turned this into a birthday card for my hubby.

Birthday Card

Don't you love it when the printed paper does all the work for you?   All that I had to do was stamp the words in orange and layer up the white piece.  Nice!  Great for a quick card when you need one.

Memory Box Birthday card

Like how I'm using up scraps?  The present was wrapped in a similar way.  I had a piece of wrapping paper too small for the box so I used it in the middle of the package with a solid paper that went all the way around the box.  Simple, but nice.

WPlus9 Christmas set

Ok, now you've had two weeks worth of Christmas card ideas.  Hope you found one that helped inspire you to make some cards.  -Get started now so you can enjoy it!  This is probably one of the easiest.  All these stamps are in one set and the trees, deer, and words can be put on one stamp to be inked together.  (The trees are then reinked and stamped again.)  Then ink the birds and stamp.  Done!  And now I'll move on to another topic tomorrow.

Impression Obsession Die

One more card with a watercolor background!  The die was popped with some foam tape and then the words were added in the corner.  Simple, but nice.

Penny Black Christmas card

Here is another card done with a watercolor background.  Once dry, the words were applied with Versamark and then sparkely blue Wow embossing powder was applied and heated.  The Wow embossing powder is the only one I've found where I can use sparkley powder with such detailed words.  It really turned out great.

MemoryBox dies

It's all about the dies for this card.  It looks very simple, but this is really a rather labor intensive card.  The snowflakes are so delicate, you need to be very careful when extracting the die and then gluing it down.  The dies were mounted onto a metallic blue card stock.

Impression Obsession Christmas

Pulled out the watercolor paper and my Kiao watercolor set to do the background for this card.  After wetting the paper the water color was brushed over an acrylic block and then pressed onto the paper.  Once dry, the image was stamped on with a Versafine blue pad.  Extra ink was added to the boy since the watercolor paper had so much texture.  Then image was layered onto silver paper.

Stampendous Holiday card #2

Here is a nice variation to yesterday's card.  This time the image was stamped with a blue dye ink and the image was colored in with colored pencils.  After being cut out, it was added to a card that had been embossed with a Darice embossing folder.  A little more work that yesterday's card, but still not too bad.

Stampendous Holiday Card

Stampendous has come out with several images along a similar line to this.  They make for a pretty quick card.  The image was stamped with a Distress ink and then colored in with a Copic marker.  Cut it out and add a little ribbon and you are done!

Dreamweaver Embossing folder

Dreamweaver came out with this same stencil image now as an embossing folder.  Yeah!  It was tried out here on printed paper that had a white core.  Once embossed, it was sanded so the white underneath was exposed.  A pretty quick and easy card.

Gail's card

The mail brought a pleasant surprise for me the other day.  I made some changes in my job recently, and a friend sent me this card as an encouragement.  How nice!  I have it out on a table in my house as a happy reminder of her thinking of me.  Cards are such an easy way to put some happy in the day!

Memorybox dies

Have another card that as part of the demo yesterday.  Same dies used that were on the card I posted Tuesday but this time mirror paper was used.  Will post some more ideas for holiday cards tomorrow.

Memorybox Dies

Memorybox has some great dies for the holidays.  Took one look at this one and saw many potential ways to use it.  Here in one variation.  The ornament die is paired up with the "joy" die.  Both the word and the cut out parts were covered with a fine glitter.  Come see more ways to make holiday cards today if you can come to the demo at Angela's Happy Stamper store.  I'll be doing a demo from 12-2.  It's on going so come anytime during this time.

Dreamweaver Stencil

Today is a busy day getting ready for the demo tomorrow at Angela's Happy Stamper store.  I'll be talking about holiday cards.  This is one of the cards I'll be showing.  It's really pretty but is a fair amount of work.  Is it the right card for you?  We'll be showing a variety of cards and talking about what to consider if you want to send cards.  Personally, I love getting a handmade Christmas card.  It can be a card and gift all in one!  Come join the discussion any time between 12 and 2 and make a card while you are there.  You'll have atleast one done!

Graphic 45 Card

This card is being sent to a friend who loves sunflowers.  She lives in California which is experiencing a sever drought.  Thought this might be a "virtual" garden for her.
