Be back soon

Dad passed away suddenly last week.  Have been dealing with all that needs to be done.  And now I'm having computer issues so not posting until I get that fixed.  Hope to be back at it soon, but wanted to let you all know why I not posting for a bit.

IO Heart card

After stamping the heart that was posted yesterday, I saw that there was enough ink left on the heart that would give me another image.  I just added another spritz and stamped on white paper.  Yeah!  It worked!  Stampendous has a nice filigree set that was inked with a Distress pad and was stamped on the heart .  The words are by Mama Elephant.  The paper is by Doodlebug.

IO Heart

This heart by Impression Obsession is a favorite of mine.  There are so many things you can do with it.  Today I took out a nice juicy Kalidacolor "Calypso" pad and ran it across the heart.  It was lightly spritzed and stamped.  The words are by Mama Elephant.  The background is by Deep Red and is stamped with a pigment chalk pad.  Tomorrow see how I got a second card out of this one inking by the rainbow pad.

Embossed Friends Card

This is one of those cards that I made with one idea in my head but what was coming out wasn't the same.  Sometimes you have to let go with what you were thinking and embrace what you have.  Because what you have is good- just different from your expectations.  If you can do this it saves you a lot of frustration and disappointment.  What I ended up with here was a card where the hearts were embossed with colored embossing powders on a white card.  The words are by Rivercity which was sponged around the  edges with Distress Peacock ink.  Bright and cheerful!

Printworks truck

Oh dear, this did come out fuzzy!  It was a card made for a friend recovering from heart surgery and I sealed the envelope before I checked the picture.  Well, I'll check before I do that again.  Since this card was for a guy, I thought he'd enjoy the truck.  It was done on light tan paper and then was further colored in with colored pencils.  There is a slit in the back bed of the truck so the word piece could be slid in there.  A large blue circle was die cut and attached to the front of the truck.  The rest of the card is made from printed paper.

MFT Heart Die

This is the same die used on yesterday's card.  Same idea, but this time the hearts have the color and the background is white.  Think this is my favorite.  The nice part is since the die was used for each color, I have lots of hearts left to make more cards.

My Favorite Things Heart Die

I'm loving this new heart die from MFT.  They come all attached so you can run them all together on one piece of paper.  First though, I embossed them with numerous embossing folders and then ran the paper with the heart die.  I wanted to have white hearts here, but felt they needed a little bit of color because the designs didn't show up enough with the pure white.  Hearts were attached with some foam squares.

Heart Canvas

We did a class last year at Angela's Happy Stamper that was one a lot of folks couldn't come to much to their despair.  Not the feeling you want someone to have at a happy place.  So, prepare to rejoice!  I am offering this canvas as a class in February.  You will learn the same techniques we learned in the previous class.  Just doing it in a new composition.  We've got lots to try out on this canvas- gelatos, Big pens, matte medium, embossing paste, and gesso- with the option of glitter as well!  Call in to the store or come on in to sign up.  Space is limited.

All about Dina

This will be the free Make It Take It next week at Angela's Happy Stamper store.  I love Dina's stamps, paints, and style.  It's been a stretch for me but a good one.  I'm getting more comfortable with using paints and doing a collage effect.  That's why I'm giving everyone the chance to jump in and try out all these great products on Thursday.

Doodlebug paper

Yep, still having too much fun with the Valentine Doodlebug paper.  One of the 12x12 sheets has various printed sayings it.  Here is one of the sayings along with the reverse side.  All that was added were the pink gems.  Will need a large square envelope to mail this.

Doodlebug Paper

So enjoyed making this "Love bug" card.  Doodlebug has not disappointed in their new line of papers!  I cut out the bugs from the same page as the words.  Then just layered everything up.

Paper Smooches

There is a great set of words by Paper Smooches the has the word "welcome" and then a multiude of words to go with it.  Need a "welcome home", "welcome neighbor", "welcome baby", etc?  They are all here.  The welcome on this card was stamped on velum.  It didn't photograph well, but can be seen better in person.  However, there is a "welcome" die to go with this set if you prefer that to stamping.  The vellum is over paper by Doodlebug.

Dina Wakely paints

Well, I finally got done this "gift" I had planned for the new store.  However, it's rather late!  We've been open for almost two months now.  Life rather got in the way.  So, I'm very happy to have it completed.  The letters are cloth covered.  They were gessoed first and then painted with Dina Wakely paints.  On the front of each letter a stencil was placed and a second color was sponged on.  You can see these for yourself if you come to Angela's Happy Stamper store.  They are over by the demo table.

Washi paper garland

From a bag of  wooden spools, I took out about 15 spools and wrapped various red and black washi tape around each spool.  The width of the tape fit perfectly in the middle of the spool.  They are threaded onto some red ribbon.  Then various extra ribbons were cut and tied in between the spools.  If you come to Angela's Happy Stamper store, you'll see this hanging above the Valentine's Day paper.

Doodlebug paper and Impression Obsession stencil

Found these cute frames at a big box craft store.  When the new Doodle bug paper came in one sheet was used for all the frames.  On the first and last frame, an Impression Obsession letter stencil was placed and black paint was sponged over the paper.  The heart was punched out of the same paper and a little black paint was smoothed over the edges.  The heart was placed on the reverse side of the printed paper.  Once the paint was dried, all I had to do was put the paper in the frames.

Gelatos

Recognize this card?  It was posted yesterday but looked a little different.  Yesterday we colored in certain areas with the gelatos and a water pen.  Great if you like detail work.  However, it that drives you crazy, here is another way you can use the gelatos.  The gelatos were rubbed over the paper and then a wet wipe swiped all the color into a blended look.  Once dry, the image was then stamped with a Momento Luxe pad.

Impression Obsession

The new IO images for Valentine's Day are out.  I just love this one.  The coloring was done with gelatos and a water pen.  Come give it a try at Angela's Happy Stamper today.  It is the card that is being offered as a free Make It Take It.

Sympathy Card

Sympathy cards are not really the cards I wanted to start the year doing first.  Unfortunately, there is a need for them.  This one is the most simple of all.  The scene is actually Memory Box printed paper.  All it needed was the word stamp.  Black seemed to severe so the words were stamped in a Versafine gray.  Think it worked perfectly.

Encaustic Wax

If the snow doesn't scare you off, I'll be doing a demo at Angela's Happy Stamper store tomorrow.  Along with the wax, I'll be showing how to use Frantage elements and incorporating stamped images.   Hope you can come join the fun.

Impression Obsession

Izink was used on to create the color on this card.  A very different look from how the Izinks were used to create the card yesterday.  See why I like them so much?  A new image from IO was stamped with a black Versafine ink over the card.  Then stickles and a Luna pen gave the sparkle to the card.  Some Hero Arts gems were added to the corners.

Izink ink

A happy new year to you all.  I started out the new year determined to make more time for creativity.  So, one of the first things I did today was make a card.  The background was done using Izink ink.  This is a new product to me.  I got together with a friend this week and we took several hours to just play with them.  Wow!  So many things you can do with these!  You'll be seeing lots more with this ink as I continue to try things out.  It may be hard to see here, but one of the really cool aspects to these inks is that they have a metallic sheen to them.  Love that!
