For  this holiday card I went back in my files to find a favorite card to share from a yester year.  Don't you just love these little jack-o-lantern bells?  Hope it's a fun and safe day for you all.

Apple Bag

Had some fun the other night with a lovely group of ladies.  Took and idea I saw on Pinterest to make a new grocery bag.  We cut up apples two ways.  One way was crosswise, and one way was straight down the middle of an apple.  We painted one half one color, and the other the second color. Each time we stamped we repainted before stamping again.  I particularly liked how my friend's bag turned out here.  One thing we found out quickly, less is more when using the paint.  It also is good to line the bag so the paint doesn't go through to the back side.  All in all, quick, easy, and fun!

Stampendous Harvest Wishes

I really liked this stamp that fits for anytime all fall.  It was stamped on cream paper and colored in with Copic pens.  Then it was cut and added to the printed paper.  A few sequins finished off the card.

Viva Decor Inka Gold

This started out to be a leaf print, but I didn't like the print.  So I just pressed the leaf in some spots of paint, added some Inka Gold  and attached it to the text with a lot of foam tape.  The frame was a very bright green, so it was toned down with some Inka Gold Bronze rubbed over it.  A nice, seasonal decoration.

Art Journal Entry

This is the journal page for our November class.  Sometimes things come quickly, and sometimes it takes a while to get a good page.  This one took a while, but the results were worth it.  We'll be using stamps, embossing folders, and Viva Decor's 3D paint.  And lots of tags!

Felt

One of the latest fads to invade us is felt.  The nice thing about it is that you can die cut the felt.  It's flat enough to use on cards with glue.  However, I took some of my felt and made air freshners out of them.  The pumpkin here is die cut.  A slip stitch was used to put the pieces together after doing a regular stich to make the lines down the pumpkin.  The owl was made by hand by me, but the white and black pieces were die cut.

Glitter paste

Viva Décor has many glitter pastes.  This one is red and has a lot more fire when you see this in person.  Their glitter paste over all has lots of sparkle and shine and spreads well.

Ferro Paste

More Ferro paste today using a plastic stencil on printed paper.  Made this into a large tag and tied it off with some silk ribbon.

Modiler paste

Different type of paste today.  This one is smoother and has a metallic sheen.  Love the blue but there are many other colors as well.

Ferro Paste

Viva Décor has a wide variety of products. On this card two colors of Ferro paste were used over a Dreamweaver stencil.  All that was needed then, was to let the paste dry and mount it onto the card.

Art Impression Wobble Card

Got some very fun sets by Art Impression recently at a stamp show.  Love this "wobble" card. The inside part is on a spring you can attach to the card.  When you open the card the picture wobbles.  Love it!

Halloween Owl card

Nothing moves on this card today, but it's a cute one that I sent to a friend.  Color was done with Copics.

Art Impression Spinner Card

Here is the other set I got from Art Impressions.  This kind of card is a spinner card.  There is a die to help make this cut nicely.  Once cut and colored, a thread is run through the parts and attached to the card.  Lots of die cutting to do this card, but it's a really neat idea and a great card to give to someone.

Classes with Dyan Reavely

Was a special weekend at Angela's Happy Stamper store as we enjoyed classes with the marvelous Dyan Reavely.  So inspirational and informative.  Learned new ways to use her paints which I already love.  Oh happy day!  Here is one of the many projects we got to do.  So appreciate having a place to enjoy good guest artists.

Fall card

The stamps to this card all came from one clear set.  The words were stamped with a Kalidacolor pad.  A nice, easy card.

Shaker Card

I had a stamp that was designed to help you create a shaker card. Thankfully, today there are many options to help make the process quicker and easier.  But, this got the job done at the time.  Metallic leaf confetti was used to fill the card.

Autumn Card

Had a nice surprise today.  I was over at a friend's house and she had out several cards I had sent her over the years.  They were all fall cards so I took some pictures of them and will post them now and over the next few days.

Impression Obsession Wall Stamp

Impression Obsession has an amazing amount of wall stamps that create beautiful backgrounds for cards.  I took this fall one and die cut it and added an embossed base for this card.  Color was added by using a dove blender pen and dye base inks.

Stamps by Judith

Took this cute stamp and added to its cuteness by stamping it three times. Then they were colored in with Copic markers and google eyes were added to each face.  The saying is by Eat Cake.

Candy Corn card

This was way easier than what I had expected.  The stamp was inked and stamped three times.  Color was added with copic pens.  Then the word stamp was added.  Some washi tape fit right beside it.  All this was mounted onto printed paper.  Hope to get a few more cards done soon.

Impression Obsession Halloween card

I love doing fall cards.  Was so happy to have a chance to get some Halloween cards done so I can send them off to friends and family.  I've been working on my shading and this was a good one to practice on.  Copic pens really help to make the process a little easier.

Impression Obsession Halloween

This is two stamps from IO.  Drink was colored with Copic pens. You can see I'm still working at using up some of my printed paper as well.

Halloween Card

Had a girlfriend card day.  Love those.  Hadn't had one for a while.  I did this month's holiday cards. Will post the results over the next few days.  Used some many printed papers from my stash for this card.  The candy corn is a stamp and colored with copic pens.

Art Journal Entry

Here is the page we will be doing for our art journal this month.  It is hard to tell in the photo, but each color is a separate layer.  There is lots of dimension to this page.  The border  has an ombre effect over which was doodled designs.  I'll be doing this next week at Angela's Happy Stamper store. You can go to the store's web site if you want more information.

Hero Arts Sympathy Card

We got the sad news that my husband's uncle died recently.  He loved the outdoors so I made this card to send to the family.  The sun was created by cutting a hole in a piece of paper and placing it over the card as a reverse mask.  I then sponged the open area with a yellow dye ink.  Then removed the mask and added the words and the Stampscapes birds.  Now it is ready to send.

Paper leaves

Do you know the joys of Pinterest?  It's a great resource for many things.  I love it for card and craft ideas.  This was an idea I got off of it which I tried out with friends the other night that was a great hit.  We took old picture frames and sanded them.  Then we painted a couple of layers of gesso over the frames.  Next came paint in several layers.  Then the string was added and held in place with a staple gun.  The leaves were punched out of printed fall papers and attached with little clothes pins.  The nice thing is the leaves can be changed out for other things as the seasons change.  We were all very pleased with the results.

Viva Decor Modellier Paste

We had a grand time at the Open House at Angela's Happy Stamper Store.  I was showing lots of ways to use paste.  So many ways to use it!  And now so many colors and types to use!  I declared it was time to get over any fears we have of using it and just start playing with it!  No worries if you couldn't make it to the  Open House-there is still plenty of good stuff for the taking.  Hope to see you soon at the store.

Friday, October 2, 2015

Here is one of the things I made the other night in Jen's class.  It is called Ferro paste.  It has a matte chalky look to it.  Really fell in love with it.  I will be demo-ing with it on Saturday from 12:30-2.  Come see why I like it so much!

Thursday, October 1, 2015

Found this sign on line and liked it a lot. As you begin to think about the holidays, hope you will think of your local folks who are working hard to stay in business and offer you alternatives you won't find in the big box stores.  And as a "thank you", at Angela's Happy Stamper store this Saturday, we will be having an Open House.  Free demos, make it take it's, food, gifts and prizes!  Hope you can come join the fun.  I just got back from doing all prize bags.  I'll be doing one of the demos from 12:30-2 on the joys of paste and products to go in it.
