Dreamweaver Stencil Background

Oh, look at me sneaking in yet another spritzed card.  Was really happy with how this turned out.  On a white piece of paper the background stencil was placed.  Fireworks blue, yellow, green, and purple, and pink were used.  Fireworks have a metallic sheen to them that really show up well on this card.  Once dry, the hearts (which have also been spritzed) were added.  The small hearts were sponged with some of the purple ink that was also used in the corners of the card.  The words are by Printworks.

Memory Box Die Cut Valentine

My mother in law loves purple.  So purple it was when picking things out for this card for her.  Besides the die cut done to highlight the heart punch, a punch was used to create the wavy dots on the white piece.  The words and hearts on the bottom white piece were inked with a purple Versafine.

Give love card

I like doing Winter cards, and have really appreciated being able to combine winter with Valentine's Day this year.  This printed paper worked perfectly with this Darcy saying.  A couple of small hearts were punched out to go in the corners, and some red velvet ribbon was added with red line tape to complete the card.

Bo Bunny Card

This new paper from Bo Bunny has been very popular.  As you can see, it has lots of sparkle and shine to it.  There are several coordinating designs and several are used on this card.  Sorry about the sheen from the sticker.  Didn't realize the camera was causing such a bright reflection when the picture was being taken.  On the inside it says, "It's cold outside by thoughts of you warm my heart" done by Printworks.

Stencil and Sprays Card #7

We started this look at stencils and sprays by a card that used this plastic stencil.  All cards this week were done on white paper.  Today this stencil was used on colored card stock.  Light to medium colored card stock works really well with darker colored sprays.  It's hard to tell, but the words were stamped on cream colored paper and a Pewter Shimmer was spritzed over it.  When using sprays remember you want gravity to be your friend.  Don't spritzed facing down, but straight over your image into a Color Catcher box that sits up so your spray mostly goes into the wall of the box.  Hope you have enjoyed the ways to use sprays and stencils together this week.  Would love to know which card is your favorite.

Stencil and Sprays Card #6

A resist was created first on this card by embossing with white embossing powder the Hero Arts design element and the Memory Box heart.  Then each background color was spritzed one at a time on a teflon mat.  A sponge tool dipped in a color was then swiped across the paper.  The heart was added to a colored paper and cut out.  The words are by Printworks and were stamped in Versafine Black.

Stencils and Sprays Card #5

Two heart stencils were used to make this card.  The large heart was placed and then all outside parts were masked off with ;long post-it notes.  Three Fireworks sprays were used to color the heart.  Once dry, the stencil was removed along with the masks.  The small heart was then slightly overlapped onto the large heart.  More masks were placed around the open heart image and more spraying was done.  This was repeated each time the small stencil was repositioned.

Stencil and Sprays Card #4

The same stencil used on this card is the same stencil that was used yesterday.  This card started with the same green stripes, but then the stencil was turned and a blue Color Wash was spritzed.  This created the plaid image.  A Memory Box fern was stamped with Versamark three times and then embossed with an Adorandack embossing powder.  The words by Hero Arts were stamped with a Versafine green pad.  The ribbon image was more of the green paper cut to look like a ribbon.

Stencil and Sprays Card #3

The stripes here were made using a Dreamweaver large stencil and Moss Color Wash.  Then on a teflon mat, more spray was spritzed.  A sponge applicator was dabbed in the puddle of Color Wash color and then applied to the Hero Fern image.  The the image was stamped onto white paper and was spritzed with some Copper Shimmers.  Copper was also spritzed onto the green card stock.  A metallic pad was sponged onto the edge of the striped paper.  A copper ribbon was run around the card and tied off

Stencil and sprays Card #2

Yesterday a plastic stencil was used to create the card.  Today a metal stencil was used to create this image. The heart was placed on a white piece of paper and a Fireworks metalic spray was spritzed over the stencil several times.  The stencil was then removed and a little more of the same color was spritzed again.  The paper was dried, cut, and the edges were run over a dark pad.  The pink paper had a Hero Arts design element stamped in gray over the edges of the card.  Gray paper was added, and silver elements by Hero were also added.  Then the sprayed paper on top.  Words are also by Hero and were inked with a black ink.

Stencils and Sprays Card #1

We had quite a nice day in spite of the weather at Angela's Happy Stamper store.  Good to see the hardy souls that made it out to our morning of demos and Make it Take its in the afternoon.  I did a demo in the morning on using stencils and sprays.  Thought I'd share the cards shown during the demo for those who couldn't make it.  This card used a large design stencil laid on a white paper.  Blue Color Wash was spritzed over it, then a little bit of pewter Shimmers.  Once dried, the image was cut around the edge and glued onto the blue card.  The stamp was inked with a Versafine blue.

Snowman bag

Had to show the bag one of our staff members made and gave out to us.  She cut down a lunch bag and the attached these paper pieces to the front and back.  She punched the edging and handles as well as made the snowman.  Cute and cleaver!

ATC Card

Our newest staff member made a big hit with this card/gift at our staff party.  What really makes it perfect is the little easel she found for it.  Makes it seem like a little piece of art.

Valentine Blocks

One of the gifts given at our staff party were blocks covered with printed paper and then stamped with these letters.  The heart was punched out onto the pink paper and glued on.  Very cute.

Memory Box Die Cut Card

Here's the card our illustrious boss, Angela gave to each of us at our staff party.  She used Memory Box die cuts to make the tree and the heart leaves.  Isn't it great?

#1 Stenciled Fan Card

We had our staff party the other night.  We give each other cards and gifts.  This is the card I gave.  Not only good for the party, but has me covered for Valentine's Day as well.  The inside of the card has "You rock" stamped on it, and then I signed it "From one of your favorite fans".  We have such talented and fun folks at the store and each one gives me such good ideas and inspiration.  In fact, I'll be showing on this blog some of the cards and gifts they gave over the next couple of days  They are just too good to keep for myself!

Happy New Year Card

Thought I'd share a card a friend sent me.  Splendidly simple, and just right.  She always makes great cards.

Motion Sailing Card

It's around this time of year I get to thinking of warmer places by the sea. If you can't be there, maybe this card will help you take a "virtual" vacation.  The images are from a cube stamp by Judikins. All images were stamped in dye black ink and color was added by using a blender pen and ink from dye base ink pads.  It gives it a watercolor look.  This is a "motion" card.  There is a slice along the water and the boat is a seperate piece attached to the ribbon.  Pull the ribbon and the boat sails across the water.  Words are by Amuse.

Fantastic Day

I'm home after yet another trip to PA. So I went through my card file and found one from a while ago. Think we did this as a Make and Take at Angela's Happy Stamper. The images were embossed in white embossing powder. The fan was done on printed paper and cut out. More printed paper was used underneath the fan. Makes for a quick card. Hope to finally get to do a little more stamping tomorrow.

Type of friend Card

Our house is taking on a very "vintage" look as we bring more stuff in from my Dad's place. One thing we didn't bring was my mom's old typerwriter-but this stamp sure reminds me of it. The image and words are by Hero Arts. It was inked with black Versafine. It's a quick simple card to do. All that was needed to finish it off was the little heart that was punched out and added by creating a small slit in the typewriter.

Stampscapes Night Card

We've been having some wonderfuly clear nights with bright moonlight much like this card depicts.  The moon and clouds were done first in a light blue.  Then the cabin was inked in black.  The side trees were inked next, and the stones then placed in between the trees.  A small sedge brush stamp was used on top of the stones to add some grass effect.  Using a stylis tool, color was added from each corner and additional pink and purpe were added to the clouds and water.  The birds were added last.  White glossy paper was used.  A white pen created highlights to finish off the card.

Turned this Winter card into a Valentine's Day card with the use of a punched heart. The images are by Gina K and were stamped in black. The snowman was colored in with Copic markers. Inside it says, "In a world of coldness, give love!"

Birthday Bling

Another birthday card today. The background stamp is by Hero Arts. It was inked with a multicolored pad and stamped onto a white glossy paper. The cake was also stamped with a multi colored pad and lightly colored in. It was punched out and sticker paper was applied over the whole image, and then irridescent glitter poured on top. The background paper was also placed on sticker paper and glitter was applied around it and placed on the card.

Happy New Year

A little late with this card, but still early enough to count. This is one of the designs from Paperstudio. Nice and simple to stamp and color and makes for a simple, but good card. The image was inked with black Versa Fine, heat set, and then colored in with Copic Markers. That's it!

Heart Card

This card was made from a Stampn'UP! set I obtained longer ago than I care to admit. Lots of paper piecing on this card and a few red confettie hearts to boot.
The one brown heart was also run through a corrigator to give it more texture.  The patterns give the hearts a nice country feel.

A simple and quick use of the same stamps from yesterday. The blue card is preprinted with the lines, and is solid on the inside. Around the oval more glitter dots of irridescent glitter glue were added. Do you have a preference? Leave a comment and let me know.

Birthday Twinkle Card

Time for January birthdays! There are several I have to make cards for, and one is pretty quick into the month. No snow here yet, but the cold just hit, so I pulled out the winter box of stamps and turned to some cute Printworks stamps. Everything was stamped with dye base black ink. A little bit of color was added to the legs and arms with a fine tip pen. The color was sponged on with a Versmagic Lavender pad. Pulled out the Cuttlebug and did an embossed folder for the background. Then pulled out the double stick paper and added the pieces to the card with space left for the irridescent glitter to stick to.  More bling was added to each little star with an irridescent glitter glue.  A pretty quick card. Will show a variation of these images on another card tomorrow.

Letter full of Love

This was a pre cut card consisting of two parts. The white part was inked up
with a variety of stamps using red dye ink which was also sponged on as well. This piece was then added into the brown part after it was inked and folded. Just slid in. Nice and easy. The first picture shows the card once all folded up. Real stamps were also incorporated into the card.

Stampscapes Peace Card

This was the card I designed for our last make and take at Angela's Happy Stamper. Seemed a good one for the end of the year. All that was needed was the one church stamp which was inked in blue Versa Fine. It was then punched with the oval Mega Giga punch by Marvy. More blue was sponged on around the edges and sky. This was placed on an oval Nestabilites which was cut on the Cuttlebug. The words were inked in the same blue ink. The star is a die cut by Memory Box. A touch of irridescent glitter glue was added to the center of the star.

Scenic Route

This seemed a good card to show as we head into a new year. 2011 was not hard to leave behind for me. Of course, one doesn't always know what is ahead, but, I like the message this card says. As much as possible, enjoy the beautiful things as we journey through life. This card is a retirement card my husband asked me to make for a colleague who worked on roads in the national parks. All stamps are by Stampscapes and were inked in black Versafine ink. Once the images were placed, the color was added with the stylis tool. The color on the road was created with Copic markers. Sorry, can't remember who makes the saying. On the inside "Happy trails" is stamped in black.
