River City Card

Love this stamp and saying.  Sometimes "get well" isn't what you want or need to say to someone going through an illness or trying situation.  It also stamps out to make a simple yet lovely card.
All I did was stamp the image and words in "Paris Dusk" blue onto white paper and mount it onto a card.  Nice.

Dyan Reavely's Paints

Have I mentioned how much I love Dyan's paints?  Just a few times, I know.  Here is another one of the pages I did from my demo of her paints.  There are several stencils used with the paints done over the stencil.  I love how you can get a such dimensional effects depending how  intensely you apply the paint.  So much fun!

Thank you card

Sometimes amidst the hurry and hustle of life, I like to go to my scrap pile and just bang out some quick cards.  When just using paper I don't have to think too much and can concentrate on the design of the card.  This is one of the those cards.  Never can have too many "thank you" cards in my stash!

City Grid

Here is the Art Journal entry we did this month from class.  We started with maps that were adhered to the pages and then gessoed over them.  Next, a Crafter's Workshop City grid was put down and embossing paste placed over it.  It was actually used in three spots.  Once it was dry, Distress reinkers were dripped over the page after being sprayed with water.  A few embellishments were added along with some stamped images.

On a happy side note, I've been mentioning all the computer woes I've been dealing with which is why I haven't been posting as much.  Good news is that I think I've found a new way around my problem!  Hope to be back to posting more often.

MFT Flower set and Die

Here is a variation on a card I recently posted.  The other card used only the stamp set.  This card uses on overlaying die for the flower heads.  The die used a color just slightly lighter than the inked stamped image.  There is also another die so the whole flower can be die cut.  So many options!

Dyan's Paint demo

Enjoyed doing the demo on Dyan's paints on Saturday at Angela's Happy Stamper.  The time just flew by!  Had an enthusiastic group who cheered me on.  Here are a couple of the pages done with the paints and stencils.  Love these paints.  They are wonderful colors that make you want to play with them!

My Favorite Things Flower set

April showers brings May flowers!  Been enjoying this set by MFT.  There are two die sets that go with these flowers.  So many options for making cards!  Just in this stamp set are the solid stamps and then outline stamps for all the images.  On this card I opted to just add the outlines to the flower heads.  This is the card we are doing today as a free MITI at Angela's Happy Stamper store.  Come join the fun!

Free Demo

If you have been waiting for Dyan's paints to come in, wait no more!  We are well stocked at Angela's Happy Stamper store.  I'll be doing a demo on Saturday from 1:30-3 showing you some of the joys of these paints.  We used them in our Spiritual Art Journal this month and everyone has been loving them!  Mark it on your calendar and come see why.

Magnet Boards

Well it's been another interesting week for me.  Took a trek up to PA for another family funeral.  But, was able to be back in time to meet with these sweet ladies for a fun night.  We took metal trays and painted them (with several layers of gesso first).  Then we took buttons and paper flowers with brads and applied magnets to them so they'd stick to the tray.  Magnetic tape was added to the back so the board will stick to any metal surface.  Didn't they do a great job?

Washi tape

What's better than washi tape for a quick, easy card?  Making a card with washi tape and taking it in to Angela's Happy Stamper store so you can display it on our Wall of Fame for the Month!  Entries will be automatically entered into a chance to win a prize at the end of the month.  Bring one in any time this month!

One layer card

Oh the joys of a simple one layer card!  Used a new stencil by Stencilgirl on this white card.  The color was sponged on patting and dabbing over the delicate parts of the stencil.  Then the bee was stamped along with the words.  The color of the bee was done with a blender pen pulling ink off the same pad used to color the stencil.  I made this for the Make It Take It at Angela's Happy Stamper this Thursday.   Hope you can come do this free card.

New Class

Been busy in the craft room getting ready for a new techniques class being initiated this Thursday.  It's a card class on Mixed Media.  The greatest problem has been trying to answer the question- "How do you reduce mixed media to one class?"  I'm sticking to the basics for an intro for folks who have not yet ventured into the wondrous world of mixed media.  It's actually gone well and here are two of the projects we will be doing.  Call the store if you are interested in joining us.

Dyan Reavley's Paints

We had a great time yesterday prepping our Spiritual Art Journals for May.  We found out all about the joys of Dyan's paints!  Today then, we took one of our pages and drew Mandalas over the paints.  I used a fine point Sharpie and found it worked very well over the page.  Will definitely be doing more of these.

Distress inks and Misting

Ever wonder why Ranger offers Distress pads in different sizes?  Well, the little ones were very helpful for this card.  Small, easy to handle, and easy to run across the pad with lots of control.  Yellow went on first, then pink, and then orange.  The stamp is a large background by My Favorite Things.  It was misted and placed on a white paper and held down for a few extra moments so the color could absorb into the paper.  The paper was then dried.  Then a new stamp by Memory box was inked over top.  The flowers are on the side of the word stamp.  This was mounted onto the yellow paper and it's all done.
