Pirate Card

Well, no doubt to everyone's relief, I'm off to my pirate trip and taking my cards with me.  Don't think I'm quite done doing pirate cards though.  Saw an upcoming board of Darcie stamps that are all about -you know what.  I told Angela I'd buy every set if she got them into the store.  So, you may see some more pirate cards in the future, but for now I'm done and off to have some fun.  Will be back next week.  Hope you all have a good week as well.

Dreamweaver Double Stencil

A metal stencil of a pitcher was used here, but so was another metal stencil as well.  The flowers were placed under the pitcher stencil and color was stencil brushed on with the use of pigment pads.  Once the flowers were all on, that stencil was removed.  Then a lighter yellow was sponged over the open areas of the pitcher.  Words are by Sweet & Sassy.

Verses Sea Saying

This is one of the sayings I picked up at the Verses trunk show at the store.  It's paired up with a stamp by B-Line Designs.  The image was stamped over a white paper that had been sprayed with Dylusional sprays directly onto the paper.  It created a really neat texture to the color.  The paper was puched out and mounted onto another white punched paper.

Gelli Print and Verses

Verses cards are ending with a bang today.  This message was paired up with a Gelli print.  The words were stamped with Versafine black on some extra paper with the same paint.  A quick shot of spray adhesive was added to the card to seal in and set the ink.

Verses Birthday Card

Here is another one of the birthday messages Verses sent for their trunk show at Angela's Happy Stamper store.  It goes so well with this printed paper and embellishment.  The flames were enhanced with a touch of the Stardust pen.

Verses Blessing

We are doing a trunk show at Angela's Happy Stamper store this weekend.  This is a stamp company I've always enjoyed.  I made some cards to show how good the words look on cards.  If you are in the area, stop in and see the many sayings they sent.  New funny sayings are part of the show.  They have also begun to offer the stamps in cling as well as wood.

Masked Card

Well, you can see I'm getting my "pirate" on again!  As I mentioned in an earlier post, I'm getting these cards ready so we can send them when on our "Pirate" vacation next week.  There are three different stamps here.  The treasure chest was inked first and also stamped on scrap text paper.  The text piece was cut out and laid over the image of the chest here.  Then the map was stamped and the mask then removed.  This is the result.  The words are actually part of a longer message.  I just wanted this part so it was inked and then cut to size.

Verses Stamp with Embossing

Verses is a great company for sayings both for the front of a card as well as for the inside.  In fact, all they do are sayings- so it's no wonder that they are good!  The stamps are good quality as well.  The message here was inked with a Versafine purple and outlined with the same Lavender pad used to apply color through the Bitz stencil done on the card.  A darker blue was sponged on the front as well.  The star is by Hero Arts and was die cut on white paper.  An Impression Obsession background stamp was inked with Versafine and stamped onto the star.  Then Gold pearl embossing powder by Wow was heat set.  A dark purple pad was then dragged over the star and the excess ink was wiped off.  The card was finished off using some sequins attached with white glue.

Pirate Card

Back to pirate cards!  Nice simple one today.  Inked the flag in black on white paper and cut it out and popped it on the red card with foam tape.  Then added the preprinted paper at the bottom.  All done!

Gelli Print & Dina Wakely Stamps

Love the bird set of stamps by Dina Wakely.  I was trying out some of her new paints on the bird the other day.  After cutting the bird out, thought it would go well with a Gelli print done with the round Gelli plate and a Crafter's Workshop stencil.  The print was cut to fit on the card and an outline of blue was placed behind the print.  A Memory Box die of a tree limb done on a book text page and inked brown with a Distress Pad.  The bird was placed on top with foam tape.

Anniversary Card

A simple card today.  The nice thing about printed paper is that it can do most of the work for you on a card.  This paper certainly did that for me.  I just figured out which part of the paper was needed for the card.  Took an old Stampn'Up! stamp and placed it in the corner.  Did enhance the words some with a brown Copic marker.  Inside I wrote my own sentiment the said, "You mean the world to me".

La Blanche stamp

As promised, another pirate card!  It's a combination of stickers and stamps.  The boat is by La Blanch but the flag is from the Penny Black Pirate set.  It was cut out and popped up on the ship.  "Sail away" is a stamp from a bin in a big box craft store.  Finished off the card with a pirate sticker.  Simple and quick.

Penny Black Pirate Card

Was sooo happy when I saw this set by Penny Black.  It goes so well with this pirate paper I found when in CA.  I had so much fun making this card.  You'll get to see some more-I'm heading down to join a friend for our "Pirate" vacation.  I'm getting ready by making cards to send while we are on our trip.   There are lots of pirate areas all along the east coast.  We've picked North Carolina to start our adventure.  Lots to explore there since Blackbeard used it for two of his homes and often hid his ship there.

Baby Card

I was happier with how this card turned out.  Once again, I used an Amuse stamp.  It was paired with words by Pink Ink.  The rattle was colored in with Copic markers and then the yellow areas were gone over again with a Stardust pen to add some shimmer.  I like keeping baby cards pretty simple for some reason.  Don't really know the reason, but that's what how they seem to always come out.

Baby Card

Babies on board!  We got the good news of some new entries recently, so I pulled out the baby stamps and got to work.  I paired the button sticker with this Amuse stamp.  The stamp was colored in with Copic markers.  Wasn't sure it all came together well, but I'm going to use it anyways.

Gail's Masculine Card

Have you been working on any Father's Day cards?  Thanks to the class I took with Gail, I think I'm all set.  We did this cute card with a die cut and an embossing folder.  The moustache is a stamp and so the word and heart.  We embossed the heart in gold, and added the words.

Bo Bunny Paper

Does this card look somewhat familiar?  I posted a card a week or so ago using this printed paper on a red card with one of these flower doodles colored in red. It had the  flag in red as well, with the words from Mama Elephant.  Had some flowers left over after making that card so thought I'd make a slightly different rendition..  Rather than a monochromatic look, I went for loads of color.  The flowers were colored in with Copic markers and mounted with foam tape to add some dimension..  The same set from Mama Elephant provided this new phrase for this card.  I tried the paper on just the black base card, but felt it needed some more color than just the flowers.  This time yellow worked well.

Hero Arts

Back to this Hero Arts flower.  I did this a while ago in more of a coral color.  Wanted to try more of an orange color today.  The inks were both pigment inks.  Once dry, the colors were enhanced with colored pencils.  Added in some Kaiser paper from one of their paper packs for the rest of the printed papers.  Used a bit of bling from embellishments from Jellibean.

Gail's Masculine Card Class

We got some new instructors at the store.  I made the most of the chance to take a class.  Gail has a clean and simple look to her cards that I adore.  This was my favorite card.  She makes great use of the white space here to effectively cause your eye to focus on the image.  Making a hippo blue also makes it stand out!  Cutting the card at a slightly different angel takes a simple card and makes it unique.  Really enjoyed the class.  Always good to see life from someone else's perspective.  It causes me to see things a little different and makes card making that much more interesting.

Art Impression Stamp

Doesn't this image just put a smile on your face?  Inside the words that come with it say, "wear your birthday with style".  The lovely lady was colored in with Copic markers.  On her dress I added green and yellow dots.  The whole image with then outlined with a  C1 gray marker.  It was then layered onto to some Bo Bunny printed paper.

Embossing with Hero Arts

Wow embossing has lots of vibrant colors.  I tried out some of their hot pink using these new stamps by Hero Arts.  They had this great background and then a coordinating set with this flower and various words.  The flower was embossed as well.  The words from the set, were done with a dye black ink.  Embossing a whole background stamp can sometimes be a trying experience, but as you can see, this background embossed very well.

Washi tape

Put the washi tape on this card a while ago and never finished it.  While cleaning my craft room today I came across these sticker words and thought they would go well on the front of this card.  Put the flower up in the left corner and thought I was done.  Unfortunately, when I picked up the card I had some ink on my fingers that transferred to the card.  Urrrgh!  What to do?  Well, as you can see, I went back to the flower stash and came up with some more flowers to cover the spots. Oh happy day!  Let's hear it for flowers.

Frantage Elements

While out in CA, we got a chance to hit the beach.  Sounds great, but we were in Northern CA which is very different from Southern CA.  I had on three layers with a beach towel over that.  It was windy and foggy-but we were at the beach!  We still loved it.  Thought this card reflected our  feelings about the beach well.  On top of the printed paper some Stampendous thick "Sand" embossing powder was scattered onto the paper.  It was then heated from underneath (so the powder didn't blow away).  Some thick gold embossing powder was also added.  Then the shells.  This card is best hand delivered.

Art Impressions

I just got back from a great road trip.  Got to be in CA for two weeks.  The first week I was vacationing with my husband.  Then he went home and I got to spend a week with my girl friends having lots of fun.  Thought this card reflected that time perfectly.  The ladies here are actually on a "wobble" spring that makes them move.  My plane landed at midnight last night so I'm still adjusting to being home.  I read Dina Wakely's  book on Journaling on the way home so I'm anxious to get back in the crafting room and have some fun.

Bo Bunny Paper

The nice thing about printed paper is that you have options.  If you don't like one side, there is a second side to consider.  That's what happened with this paper.  It is using the back side of some printed paper.  The flower design is from a page that was covered with "doodles".  One was cut out and colored in with a Copic marker and attached with foam tape.  The words are from a Mama Elephant set.  A quick, simple card.
