Dreamweaver Egg with Translucent Paste
This is a card which is great to look at and needs to be appreciated because it is very labor intensive! There are lots of colors which were put on one color at a time while masking the other areas. The colors were allowed to dry. Then the paste was added over the stencil. Once the paste was on, the stencil was removed and loose glitter was poured over the whole egg. Once dry, the egg was cut out and adhered to the card. (The words were first embossed onto the card in white embossing powder and the organza ribbon was placed before the egg was attached.)

Dreamweaver Pearlex Paste Fish
Here is another card from our paste class. First the black paste is spread over the stencil and dried. Then the stencil is placed back over the image and a glue surface covers the paste. Then pearlex is dabbed on. The stencil is taken off, and you are all done! The image was added to a bronze metallic paper, and then to a red metallic paper. A Chinese coin was glued on last.

Dreamweaver Trees with Paste
Had a very fun class last Thursday. We did cards with stencils and paste. Here is a surprise card that was added to the class. It was done on metallic silver paper. The stencil was placed over the paper and then black matte paste was spread on top. Once the stencil was lifted off, loose glitter was poured over the wet paste and then it was set aside to dry. Once dry, the silver paper was attached to black metallic paper, and then layered onto mirror silver paper.

Magenta Stamp
It's been extra cold around here, but Savannah gave me a breath of spring. So now I've got spring on my mind. Naturally, it shows up in my card making. Have taken a large tulip here and inked the head of the flower with a pigment ink. Then inked the stem with a green pigment ink and stamped it onto the paper. The words are by Verses and were inked with a Versafine ink.

Hero Arts Birthday Card
Another Kalidacolor card. The color was brayered onto glossy paper after first stamping the image with a Versamark pad and then stamping it onto the white paper. Once the Kalidacolor is brayered over it, the image shows up as a resist. Under the image the words were inked in black. The words are also by Hero Arts.

Embossed Thank You
In between birthday cards, I also needed to send out a thank you to a friend. The Hero Arts words were embossed with opaque white embossing powder onto paper that was cut with a Memory Box die. This was mounted onto white paper cut with a Sizzix die. Then this was mounted onto the ribbon which was wrapped around the pink card. It was fun to make a card with such a fresh spring feeling.

Embossing Folder Birthday Card
March is approaching fast. It is a month of many birthdays as well as two holidays this year. Ack! So I'm working on birthday cards. Here is one ready. The white paper was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. Then "Caribbiean" Kalidacolor was brayered over top of the paper. The words were inked onto a piece of vellum and placed over the paper. Then it was mounted onto the card.

Impression Obsession Birthday Card
This image was stamped in Momento Black onto a cream colored card. Then the image was colored in using a Kalidacolor "Flannel" pad and a resevore pen. Because the pad is waterbased, the resevore pen causes the ink to give a watercolor effect on the paper. Then once the ink was dry, Flower Soft was applied to white glue to the middle of the flower. Distress ink "Antique Linen" was sponged around the edges of the circle. The image was punched with a green Giga punch by Marvy. The words are by Amuse.

Michael Strong Dragonfly Card
Ever use Michael Stong's stamps? His stamps have a striking graphic design look to them. They are great to use over brayered Kalidacolored glossy paper. This dragonfly was stamped with a black dye ink and then was outlined with a white Opaque pen. Then the image was cut out and mounted with foam tape to the punched out black glossy circle. The blue paper was embossed with an embossing folder. It was mounted onto the same colored card with foam tape. This was the first time I tried a tone on tone card. Always good to stretch myself with something new.

La Blanche Bird
Here's the card for the Make It Take It at Angela's Happy Stamper store for next Thursday. The color was applied with the use of a Dove Blender pen and Memento pads. Just swipe the tip of the pen over the pad and then apply to the image. It gives a nice watercolor effect. Some extra tint was added to the overall image by sponging on some Distress Antique Linen. The whole image was cut along the outer edges and glued onto a Memory Box card.

Valentine Card
Hope you have a good day and are reminded that you are loved by someone-be it a spouse, parent, or friend. Took this Great Impression stamp and inked it with black ink. Then colored it in with Copic markers. Punched out some little hearts and attached them with foam tape to the flower heads. Ran a red pad over the edges to highlight them. Then laid some Hero Arts self adhesive tape across the bottom of the card. Need an extra Valentine? Come to Angela's Happy Stamper store today and make one of these for free! Check with the store's web site for directions.

Star Spangled Card
Besides Valentine's Day this week, it is also in between Presidents' Day. Both Lincoln and Washington were born in February. So, in honor of their love for their country, I've posted a patriotic card. The image and words were inked with a "Red/Gold" ink by Brilliance.

Embossed Thank You
Now that I'm back from Savannah I wanted to send my friend who I stayed with a Thank you note. Took my Cuttlebug embossing folder and embossed white glossy paper. Then Kalidacolor "Flannel" was brayered over the paper. It was added to a bright pink Memory Box card. Quick and easy.

Magenta Seashell
I'm back from a short trip to Savannah. It was a breath of sunny fresh air. While there got a chance to spend a lovely day at a near by beach collecting shells. This card is a fond memory of that day. The paper is actually white glossy paper that was brayered with Kalidicolor "Cappacino". Then the image was stamped in black onto the brayered paper. The printed paper is by Graphic 45. Some gem stickers were added last.

CrackerBox Bear Saying
Can't you just relate to this bear saying? I just love it. The bear is also by the same company. The bear was inked with black ink onto brown paper and cut out. Need to send this to my friend who considers herself to be a "mama" bear. Think she'll get a good smile from this.

Memory Box Heart Card
The nice thing about this stamp from Memory Box is that it actually has two stamps on the wood. The larger heart is the main image but then on the side is this tiny heart. It makes it easy to use the images together. It's also right there when you need that tiny heart. Small images are so easy to get misplaced! The color is from the multi colored pad, Kalidacolor "Berry Blaze". Words are by Penny Black. The image was stamped on white glossy paper.

Hero Arts Strawberries
Had some left over pieces of embossed paper. Added it to this card of stawberries. Inked the jar and then stamped the stawberries. Coloring was done with Copic markers. Just loved doing strawberries during this time of year. Takes some of the sting out of winter.

Paperbag Valentine
Funny thing about making cards is that you have to work about a month ahead of holidays. So once the holidays come, you've moved on to the next holiday. Doesn't seem right to me that valentine's are all done. So I went back to a previous year to post a valentine this month. The image is inked with a Versfine gray, and is stamped on a soft white paper. All I added was the heart which was punched out and glued on. Talk about easy! This is one of my favorite valentines.

Kalidacolor Birthday Card
I have a little friend who has a February birthday. Well, she's actually taller than I am now-so shall we say I have a young friend with a birthday this month. Do like to do bright cheerful cards for my young friends. Thought this brayered glossy paper with a Kalidacolor pad was perfect for a birthday card. The star is from a Hero Arts clear set. The words are from Verses (I think)They were all inked with a Momento black pad.

Graphic 45 Card
Had someone come in the store looking for Asian stamps so she could make some Chinese New Year cards. So, thought I'd post this Asian card I made. It has lots of blank space you could easily put a message into. Love making up cards like this that are ready for whatever occasion-all you have to do is add a message.

Charm Card
Charms have a nice way of finishing off a card. Here it is the main focus of the card. The background was done with a Cat's Life Press stamp which was repeated all over the blue paper. A simple, yet fun card.

Memory Box Solid Stamp
Color Box Chalk "Maroon" pigment ink was used to stamp this solid image onto Memory Box printed paper. Color Box Chalks have a transparency to them even though they are pigment inks. This allows the printed paper to subtly show through the paint. An irriedescent glitter glue was added to the tops of the flowers and thinly spread around. An irridescent pink ribbon was added to complete the card.

Impression Obsession Tea Cup card
Hope you have enjoyed our look at ways to use Kalidacolor pads. We finish off today with a card done with Kalidacolor pad "Berry Blaze". The pad was used as a palette for coloring in this image using a resevoir pen. Kalidacolor pads are waterbase so they give a nice watercolor look when using the resevoir pen.

Kalidacolor with Embossing Folders
Another happy discovery with Kalidacolor pads is that you can use them with embossing folders. Did realize that the image looks better debossed. In other words, place the glossy side down in your folder when embossing. The end results look better. Here a heart punch was used along with the paisley folder. The words are by Hero Arts.
