Apple card #3

The card today uses a material ribbon in conjunction with a very similar looking apple stamp. The apple was stamped three times in black and colored in with dye markers. Then the apples were cut out and glued onto the card. Simple, yet works.

Iris Easter Card

My husband and I just got back from a jaunt down to the Williamsburg area. Took in some of the plantations and gardens there. The irises are just starting to bloom down there, so this card seemed to fit for the day. The iris are by Posh and were colored with water base markers. The words were colored in with a multi colored pad. The paper is a white gloss. Two felt butterflies were added with tacky glue, and the ribbon was added with red line tape.

Celebrating Spring

Now it's offical! Happy Spring everyone! To celebrate I have posted this card. It was one of those happy moments where I just let the creation take on a life of it's own-and that it did. It was done with Marvy Markers. Each flower was done individually, with light then dark colors being applied to each stamp. The paper was a very large white glossy paper and was cut after the images were applied to the paper. Most of the stamps were by Posh or Printworks.

Daffodil Easter Card

Well, onto the next holiday. Been really enjoying the daffodils that have started blooming around here. This card has one daffodil by Posh which was colored in with markers. When using markers, you can apply the different colors directly onto the rubber. When applying color, it is best to start with light colors and then go to darker colors. The paper is a matte white gloss so the details of the stamp shows up well. Each image was reinked before stamping so they all would be bright and vivid. The flower in the middle was masked so the top flower would not cover it up. The word was stamped with a Distress grey. Printed paper was used behind the white paper, then a solid green, and then a Memory Box orange card.

Cat in Spring Card

It's that time of year again-time to spring forward with our clocks. We lose an hour but gain another reminder that it really is springtime. The card today is also a tribute to spring. The words are by PSX and stamped with Versafine onto the card. The white part of the card is a matte glossy paper on which was stamped a Paula Best cat and then masked so the flowers would appear behind and under the cat. All around the cat are full surface rubber stamp flowers (mostly by Printworks)that were colored in with markers and dye base pads. Each flower is an indivdual flower stamped repeatedly is various colors. Color was added to the cat with a color duster and the butterflies were colored with markers and stamped onto the cat. More color was added to the sky with sponges. This is not a quick card, but it really doesn't take that much time to do. It is always satisfying to see the results when you make a card with lots of pieces like this.

Count your Blessings with Markers

Really enjoyed doing this card. Each image was inked with markers made for stamping. Colors can be layered so long as you go from light to dark. That way the markers aren't contaminated. It does take a little more time to do a card this way but the results are worth the effort. There is a total of 7 stamps used. The pumpkin and script background are by Stamp in the Hand, gourds by Stampn' UP!, leaves by Printworks, and words by Hero Arts. Some extra sponging was done especially in the corners. White glossy paper was used. The pumpkin was masked and then the gourds were stamped so they look like they are behind the pumpkin.
