Mists and Stencil Fern Card

Well I'm back from a packed weekend at the Collins trade show. We got in late last night and bed beckoned me so no posts from the show until I unpack. On Saturday will be the stencil class of things to do with stencils beyond dry embossing. This card is one we do involving mists. Will start prepping today. This is my most labor intensive class. Seeing the faces of those who want to learn these techniques once class is done does make it worth the effort. Hope you have a sunny start to your week.

Irish Stencil Card

This is a card we do in the dry embossing class. The card is dry embossed and then the color is added before removing the stencil. Pigment inks were used. Shading was done by overlapping colors. We're getting more spring stamps each day at the store. Come on in and be inspired!

Stencil Mist Card

Had a great time with the folks in the stencil class yesterday. Besides using paste with stencils, we also used mists. That's why I wanted to post this card today so folks could see another card using mists. If I remember right, this card was done with Glimmer Mists which has not only color, but a metallic gleam to them which is hard to see here. Once dry, I stamped the words(Penny Black)on a piece of vellum and added a paper clip.

Christmas Paste Card

I've been prepping for a stencil paste class that's coming up this Thurs. This is one of the cards we'll be doing. It's hard to tell, but the white is covered with iridescent glitter so the trees have a real sparkle to them. The look of paste can't be beat, but it does take time and patience to use paste. It's also a bit messy, so anyone coming to class-be sure to wear old clothes.

2 cats

I have a black cat with big yellow eyes. I named her Luna. Must admit, I'm partial to moons and black cats. For this card I just traced over a metal stencil I have of a cat. I reversed it to get the second cat. Then just mounted them on top of the moon. As I always say-simple is good.
