Beach Card

My hubby and I celebrated our tenth anniversary last week by heading up to Cape May for a few days. I love the beach and we had a wonderful time. This was my first trip to Cape May and definately not my last. It is a lovely town with great beaches. Put me in the mood to share a beach card. Hope you get a chance to enjoy some beach time this summer.

The grass is inked with a Creamy Brown pigment ink by Color Box. The stamp was repeated across the page reinking each time before stamping. The birds were done with a slightly darker pigment ink and were not reinked when stamped again. The words are a canvas sticker that was distressed with some brown dye ink. Simple, but works well all together. Stamps are by Stacy Stamps.

Sun Pattern card

Sure am missing all that great weather we had last week. The plants are happy with these cool days, but my mood seems to cloud up with this weather. So I guess I went sun seeking on this card. Had some fun playing around with this card and enjoyed the out come. Both of these images were on a block stamp I got some time ago. Pigment inks were used on this deep rust paper. Pigment inks are the best to use on colored card stock. They stand up well on the paper, and are more opaque than dye inks. They do take a little longer to dry, but it's definitely worth the effort. Found a nice bead that works well especially after covering it with some pigment ink to stain it.

Magenta Tulip

Been working on Easter and birthday cards tonight. This tulip is great for many occasions, but here it's being used for Easter. The message stamp is by Penny Black. Pigment ink was put directly onto the stamp. The edges of the paper were sponged with the same ink that was used on the tulip. This is a large tulip by Magenta. Hope your week is off to a good start. I'm just heading to bed. Been skyping with a friend overseas. Time differences means she's up early, and I'm up late, but it is a nice way to keep in touch.
