Embossed Coffee Card

Still embossing, but today it is dry embossing done with a folder on the Cuttle Bug. The image is by Hero Arts and was stamped with black dye ink onto a white card and cut out. A gray Copic added a little shading. The cup holder was stamped again on brown paper and pieced onto the coffee cup. The snowmen are on thin blue ribbon. The words by Amuse were stamped onto brown paper that was punched by a Marvy punch.

Cats lie card

No embossing today, but I'm back to cats. A small cat today with a funny -and you know it's true, statement about cats. The image was inked in Versa Fine black onto a white card and cut out. The base card was made with paper from Lasting Impressions. The word stamp is also stamped with a Versa Fine pad.

Embossed Lion

Yesterday's card was of embossed leaves. Today we have a lion by Art Impressions that was embossed with black embossing powder. I go in spirts with embossing. It takes a tittle more time and effort to do, but it really gives a great look. The lion in layered onto a card that has strips of printed paper that was pieced to make the design you see. I used double sides sticker paper as the base. That makes for a quick way to put all the pieces in place. Fibers were used to tie off the top of the tag.

Felt Leaves

Here is a variation to a card I posted a few days ago. Once again, this card turned out better than the first version-I think. The felt leaves are by Hero Arts and have a hole on the end of them perfect for a brad to hold them. The words at the bottom were inked with Vesa Fine brown so they would show up on the textured card.

Questionable Card

For the next two days I'll be posting cards that I'm asking for input on. When I did this card, it seemed ... not quite done. But I couldn't think of what else it needed. So I'm open to suggestions. Would appreciate your input. Thanks.

Give Thanks Quilt Card

Had another week in PA while Dad slowly recovers from his surgery. Thank goodness for stamping! It made a hard week much easier to get through and I am making progress on my Thanksgiving Day cards. Win, win. For this card, a white paper was run through the die cut. Then using a 1 inch punch, the paper squares were punched out and applied. (I had already laid down double stick tape across the die cut.) Once all the squares were on, I turned over the paper and cut along the die cut outline to trim off the squares. On the brown card an Impression Obsession background was stamped in a dark brown. The squares were sponged with the same brown around the edges and then the quilt part was glued to the card. "Give Thanks" was stamped with the same brown ink onto the brown paper. More brown ink was sponged around the message. Then a brad and ribbon were attached before the message was applied to the card. The cards are made from paper bag paper that I got at the York stamp convention. Am really liking the look it has.

Pieced Paper Card

Ever have a card that turned out even better than you expcected? That is how I'm feeling about this card. Even the husband took note of it. The base of the card is brown cardstock. Then the orange piece was run through the Cuttle bug to emboss it with a Stampn'UP! embossing folder. Strips of printed paper by Memory Box were laid down and then lace and the leaf ribbon were run around the card. The lace was a bit too white, so brown dye ink was sponged over it to soften the look. Three brads with brown pearls were added at the top. The message was stamped with brown dye ink. It is from Rubbermoon.

Eye for You

Doesn't this card make you chuckle? I love the Bo Bunny paper and it matched perfectly with the Coranado stamp saying. The ribbon was stretched across a piece of double stick tape to hold it in place. Midst the mire of miseries that have been occuring, it's been lots of fun to go to my craft area and whip out a few Halloween cards. Hope you are having some fun do them, too.

My Favorite Candy Card

What is it about candy corn that makes it so attractive? Here's a way to indulge and not feel bad. This printed paper was mounted on to yellow card stock and then onto a Memory Box black card. (I love using Memory Box for black cards because they are white on the inside.) Then run the ribbon around and place the piece with the message on top.

Halloween Card

This was a quick card. The image was preprinted. It was glued onto black paper and then cut out. It was attached to the yellow circle with foam tape. The swirly design is one of Memory Box's new die cuts which works great on the Cuttle Bug. The swirl glitter stickers are from Hobby Lobby. Layer it all up and you are done.

One Step

Got a phone call from a friend telling me how her husband had a serious stroke. Now he is facing some long term recovery. Wanted to send some encouragement to him and there is no better stamp for that than this one by Verses. The foot print stamp goes really well with it. The card is a preprinted one that comes in a pack of printed cards that I got at ACMoore. The images were stamped with a black dye (that I off stamped first so they wouldn't be too stark) onto white paper that was layered onto a piece of orange. The orange color doestn't photograph well here. It actually matches the colors in the printed paper. On the inside of the card is the Verses stamp that says "Worry not, the world can wait, take your time, recoupperate".

Apple Card #2

Yesterday I noted that this card would have a different lay out. It actually has the same layout, but the apple is layered onto the circle with printed paper behind it. A different saying was used which is part of a Stampendous set. It's always good to do several cards with a new template so you get familiar with it, and don't forget how to use it.

Apple card #1

Nothing says September to me more than apples. So here is the first of a few apple cards I'll be sharing this week. The apple is by Stampn' Up! and the paper is by Imaginisce. I keep a file of cards I like and wanted to try out this template for a while. Think it worked pretty well with this paper and image. The apple was inked with a Pigment brown and stamped onto a cream paper, then cut out. The words were also stamped with the same brown and then colored in with a coordinating ink pen. The leaf was inked also with a green pigment ink that matched the green in the paper. All this went onto a yellow cardstock. Same stamp tomorrow, but a different lay out.

Friend card

I'm very blessed to have dear friends spread through out the world. So one of the things I like to do is send cards to them to let them know that miles may seperate us, nothing changes my affection for them. This card says it quite well. The sentiment was stamped in black and attached to preprinted paper. A row of self adhesive gems was added beside the words, and a thing satin ribbon was glued between the sentiment and the printed paper.

Celebrate Candle

My husband had a birthday this past week. This is the card I did for him. The candle is from a Hero Arts set. It was inked with Momento Black onto the printed paper and cut out. The flame was filled in with a orange marker and then a shimmer pen filled in the center of the flame. The inside message was by Printworks and said, "Let your light shine".

Happy Everything

Just had to say good-bye to dear friends who are moving. I'm anxious to keep in touch, and though this card was a good first one to send to them.It's a nice easy one to make. Just printed paper with a stamped image by Hero Arts. The image was stamped in black on cream paper and then the border was colored in with a yellow marker, mounted up a variety of paper flowers which were attached with a brad and foam tape to the card.A piece of brown velvet ribbon was also used.

Tin Star Card

The star came out pretty dark in this picture. It is a rusty orange that goes well with the paper. The paper is double sided, and the green is what is on the other side of the stars. Marvy circle punches were used under the star. Small copper brads line the rust paper. The words are from a stamp by Verses. They were inked with a black Marvy marker because I only used part of the saying from the image. This makes a fun different kind of birthday card or a congratulatory card depending on what you need it for.

By the Sea

A quick, easy card. A long rectangular cream paper was sponged with some Tea Dye ink all over it. Next a great printed paper of sea images was taped on top of the cream sponged paper. Using Versafine Toffe, the words were stamped twice by the printed paper. (Stamp is by Art Impressions) Some torn cork was secured over the bottom of the card. Then a sand dollar was glued on with Diamond Glaze. Extra glaze was added over top of the sand dollar to give it additonal strength.

Love a good Book Card

A very simple card today, but a winner with any book lover. The printed papers were layered up, and the quote was stamped with a Distressed Gray pad. A little bit of Tea Dye Distress ink was also sponged around the quote. Looks good, and is quick and easy. The quote is from Impression Obsession from a clear set.

One of the joys of being at the beach is reading a good book while sitting by the sea. Hare and I have had a great week here which has included several books. We're on our way back home now, so I hope you'll stop in the store this week and say hi to us and admire our tans. :-)

Beach shoes

I've turned into a total beach freak. My time at the beach is a time to retreat from the cares of daily life and just have some R&R. Of course, my idea of R&R does include stamping. No water on this card, but it reflects the feeling of being at the beach to me.

The flip flops were embossed with a dark brown embossing powder onto the orange paper and punched out with a Stampn' UP! tag punch. A piece of hemp was tied through the tag and attached to the strip of printed paper with a piece of foam adhesive.
