Priceless

Been busy getting ready for a friend who will be visiting the DC area for the first time. Looking forward to showing her the sites, but did sneak in a bit of card making and really enjoyed the results. This is a new DRS stamp Angela ordered for me. It's so much fun! It's paired up with some paper by Imagineice, ribbon, big black gem cut brads from Hobby Lobby, and that great swirl brad from Recollections.
The dotted green wave is punched with an EK Success punch.

One Step

Got a phone call from a friend telling me how her husband had a serious stroke. Now he is facing some long term recovery. Wanted to send some encouragement to him and there is no better stamp for that than this one by Verses. The foot print stamp goes really well with it. The card is a preprinted one that comes in a pack of printed cards that I got at ACMoore. The images were stamped with a black dye (that I off stamped first so they wouldn't be too stark) onto white paper that was layered onto a piece of orange. The orange color doestn't photograph well here. It actually matches the colors in the printed paper. On the inside of the card is the Verses stamp that says "Worry not, the world can wait, take your time, recoupperate".

Who Rocks?

Have a friend who plays guitar and writes her own songs. So this card came together pretty quickly for her. Seemed very appropriate for a birthday card for her. The penquin is by Memory Box and was stamped in black. Extra coloring was done with Copic Markers. The scallop was edged with red dye ink sponged on. Rock on, Sally!

Golden Gate Bridge Scene

No, this isn't images by Stampscapes, but the color in the sky was added with the Stampscapes toner stamp. The Toner stamp is covered with small dots and is meant to be used to all color to glossy paper. Just make sure you are going from light to dark as you add the color. All images were inked with black base dye ink. I did go back over thebridge with a red pen so it would look more like the Golden Gate bridge. The bridge was stamped first, then the trees were inked and stamped multiple times. Grass and bushes were next. Then the birds. The toner stamp was used last to add the color to the sky and grass. The water was colored in with a light water color marker.

Birthday Card for Dad

Every time I use this stamp for a guy, I get a lot of good feedback. This time I used it to make a card for my dad's birthday. The stamp is by B Line stamps. It was inked with Versafine black and stamped onto a blue card. The words are from a set by Stampn' Up! Inside it says "You're a classic" also by B Line. As you can see, the blue was then layered onto a black paper, and then on to more blue card stock.

Woods Scene

Found this card I had made for my dad when I was at his place last week. It is all one stamp by Beeswax. I was trying to make it look like an old time photo that was colored in. Trouble is, nothing stands out. If I were doing this card again, I would add some distinction to the coloring. Something needs to be the center of focus. What would you make the center of focus? Apple card #3

The card today uses a material ribbon in conjunction with a very similar looking apple stamp. The apple was stamped three times in black and colored in with dye markers. Then the apples were cut out and glued onto the card. Simple, yet works.
