Memory Box Leaves

This time I kept the Memory Box Leaves rather than the Paper Cut card and created a whole different lay out. The base of the card uses cards made from paper bag paper. Then printed paper was layered over the bottom part of the card. A strip of black paper was placed between the two layers. The a strip of red tape was placed on the black paper for the silk leaf ribbon. The ribbon had some extra colored added with a Copic marker. Black loose glitter was poured over the ribbon and bonded to the red tape in between the leaves. Some "bling" was added from an embellishment page I picked up at the scrap book store in Gettysburg. It came on a large sheet, and I just picked the parts I wanted and cut it away from the rest of the parts with a exacto knife and placed it on the card. The Memory Box stamp was glued to a piece of black cardstock and trimed down. Then it was adhered to the card with a piece of foam tape.

October Card

Various printed papers were mounted on black and layered under the two ticket stamps by Memory Box. These were stamped with black and stamped on to brown card stock. The words are stickers. The jack-o-lantern is attached to a small clothes pin. The ribbon is a new one that came in the store and is perfect for Halloween cards.

Memory Box Holiday Card

Not to be bugging you, but here's another suggestion for a nice holiday card. If you start now, you'll be thanking me come December! This card uses some of Dave's great paper. The stamp is also by Memory Box, and was embossed in white onto the Memory Box paper. Then that paper was mounted onto white card stock which was glued to the brown paper. The sentiment, also by Memory Box, was also embossed with white embossing powder. One sheet of this Memory Box paper goes a long ways when you are just using it this way.

Memory Box butterfly Card

We did a fun "Make and Take" at the store a few weeks back using this paper and stamps by Memory Box. I saw some stickers of butterflies in a store that had dimensional wings like this. Figured it could be easily done with stamps. The butterfly was stamped 3 times. Once on the printed paper, then twice on cream paper. They were inked with Momentos Black and colored in with Copic markers on the last two butterlfies. Once colored, the butterlfies were cut out and glued onto the butterfly on the printed paper. A little bit of glitter glue was added to the spots on the wings. The "thank you" stamp was also inked in black. On the side of the words is the little flower stamp which was inked with a dye pink and stamped repeated around the words reinking each time before stamping.

Sympathy Card

When working on sympathy cards last week, I picked a Memory Box paper that would do numerous cards. This is another version using that paper. I definately wanted to restock on my cards. Don't like being out of a sympathy card when I need one. The stamp here is by Paper Inspirations and was inked using a gray Versafine pad. The yellow paper was punched with a Fiskers punch. The flower was attached with a brad and foam tape.

Retirement Card

A request was made to me to create a card for someone who was leaving their job after working there for quite some time. These pictures of cars are actually postage stamps. They were mounted on to a piece of black cardstock. It was mounted on to an actual road map cut to fit the card. Black photo corners were put on each corner. "Happy trails" was stamped in black Versa fine. "Best wishes" was stamped inside. The blue card is one from Memory Box. By the way, we just got in a restock of lots of these great cards in a multitude of colors at the store. So, if you use them as much as I do, now is a great time to come stock up.

Memory Box Spring Card

Ahh, spring time! Love seeing everything start to bloom. This cool weather here has kept the cherry trees blooming and now other trees are catching up. Loved this paper by Create and it goes so well with this stamp from Memory Box. A quick card to do. A little color was added to the stamped flowers with the touch of a Copic pen, and then tiny pink gems also by Memory Box.

Egg Tree Card

Eggs are one of the things I collect. So when I saw this egg tree by Memory Box, I knew I had to have it. The tree was stamped with Versafine brown. Each egg was colored in with a mat glaze gel pen. Once dry, the colors are dimensional. It really didn't take too long to do the eggs. I did one color at a time which made it go more quickly. The paper and card are also by Memory box. So is the message stamp.

Cuttlebug Egg Card

Traditonal colors for each season are what I normally gravitate to, but I went a bit "out side the box" on this card. Was pleased with the results. The eggs were punched with a Marvy punch on printed paper and then mounted onto the card with dimensional foam tape. The background was done with a Cuttlebug embossing folder using Memory Box paper. This paper is perfect to use with the folders because they are white underneath. Once embossed, all you have to do is sand the paper and the white shows through. The paper behind the embossed part looks rather blue, but it actually is a purple that goes well with the purple on the printed paper and with the ribbon. The words on the tag are by Memory Box and stamped with a Versafine purple onto a tag that was punched from a Stampn' UP! punch.

Memory Box Egg Topiary

Got a few Easter cards done the other night. This one uses one of Memory Box's new Easter stamps. It was stamped with Momento dye base ink, and colored in with Copic markers. The greeting stamp is by Stampn' UP!. The punch is by EK Success. The pink velvet ribbon was placed on top of a strip of red line tape. The card is by Memory Box.

Memory Box Paper Valentine 2

You can't beat Memory Box for their fabulous papers. This simple card was made with one of Dave's papers and one stamp also from Memory Box, and a few Memory Box Jewels. Ok, I did add a stamp from Hero Arts and used pink pigment ink to add it to the corners. But talk about easy! Oh, the card is Memory Box as well. This was no more than 5 min. to make. Any yet, so pretty. I need a quick card today because I'm packing for the weekend an will be heading up to see how dad is doing. I'll be back on Monday. Have a good weekend.

Memory Box Wreath Card

Love this wreath by Memory Box. It's so versatile. For the valentine, flower soft was added by applying a white glue first to the wreath (which was stamped in Versamagic Java) and then the Flower Soft was poured over the glue. The excess Flower Soft was removed and the card was allowed to dry. That's it! The printed paper is by Memory Box. The pink heart paper clips came in a box of mixed colors from Walmart. Ribbon pieces were added to it. The word stamp also stamped in Java, is from Printworks. The pink pearls are also by Memory Box.

Memory Box Paper Valentine

Here's the first valentine from my stash. The card and paper are by Memeory Box. The black piece was punched with a Fiskers punch. The metal heart is a sticker from Magenta. The ribbon is velvet. The silk flowers are from a pack I got at the store. In the middle of the flower is a pink gem. Put it all together, and there it is!

Memory Box Birthday Card

Part of the reason I haven't been working on valentines is because I've been doing birthday cards. Had to get 5 cards ready for January birthdays. So, no surprise, today's card is a birthday card. And a nice simple one at that. The paper is by Amuse. Then on the white card I took a Memory Box bear and found a cake that fit with him (sorry, can't remember who the cake is by). I stamped the images with a Momento black pad and colored them in with Copic markers. Then I added just a touch of iridescent glitter glue to the flame to add a little sparkle. The words are also by Amuse Stamps.

Good Tidings Card

This is one of the most enjoyable cards I've sent for the season. The deer and birds are from a clear set by Memory box. Being a clear set, I preset some of the images so as to make for less parts when it came to stamping. The deer was one stamp, the antlers another. I added the bird to the block so it could be stamped with the antlers. Then on another block, I preset the three birds on the ground. Thanks to the clear acrylic blocks that were used, I could see where to place the images each time. Then I stamped with just two colors. Versafine Sepia and Colorbox Lipstick red. The word stamp was by another company, but fit well with the card. The images were stamped on a mat coated cream paper and mounted onto a Memory Box red card (white on the inside). Wish all my cards were this quick to make!

Memory Box Wreath

Just love the hymn this phrase is from. It's paired with a wreath from Memory Box which is stamped in a pigment brown. On top of the wreath and beside the words are silk leaves that come as a ribbon from May Arts. Aren't they great? Also on the wreath are yellow/orange gems from Memory Box. Some sponging on the edges of the card help to soften the image. A piece of velvet brown ribbon is also used between the two papers. Was really happy with how this card turned out.

Another birthday card

When this stamp came in the store the company also sent a sample card. When I did this card I didn't vary it much from the sample. I changed the flora and added a ribbon and a tag-that's about it. But it got me thinking about how some folks have to do something exactly how they see it. When new to something, I know imitation is part of the process we go through so we learn. If you haven't tried to vary your work from what you see, I want to encourage you to take some small steps to make a card your own. Try a different color, a different pattern paper, alter the stamps you use a bit. Let yourself play! For the first time in years I'm allowing myself to ponder taking up painting. I started sketching again for the first time since highschool. You never know what you might find out you can really do once you start letting yourself try!
